I have a Saitek ST290 Pro.  And the base of the joystick is beginning to rub a bit and i was wanting to know what type of lubricant can you use on a gaming joystick like this? Is WD40 fine?

May be a dumb questions but i dont want to jack it up

dust = slow
wd40 + dust = working good for 1 week, then throwably slow.

find somthing that evaporates.

erm as with any contact device, it will rub and create plastic dust mate, dont use WD40 it's got white spirit and wax in it, which will mostly likely only make it worse, it's for metal object, you should try first blowing the crap out with compressed air, which will likely leave a gap, try filling this with some form of THICK oil or perhaps petroleum jelly?(vasaline) vaseline may slow it down a little, can't remember but it's good for that.. a thick oil should be sufficient, but if that's not available try petroleum jelly (i'd warm it a little first to make it less viscous)
good luck

STop dont listen to those guys use the three-in-one oil an just a few drops! dont put any jelley wd40 or anything that will gumm up or get nasty! The three in one oil is probly the best to uses but dont go overboard!
