BF2S Forums How can people play Karkand OVER and OVER and OVER again?

i've asked myslef the same and what i've come up with is that im not all to enthused to play unless i ahve nothing better and once i get into the game i am just absorbed. I would call this an addiction.

yes, but most people like to whore points, and vehicle battles make you die more.... and they can't risk their K/D ratio!!

but yeah, i enjoy a good tank battle (hell i freakin love 'em!) and that's why i've got a "not so good" 3:1 with a tank, however, i've earned a reputation amongst my peers as a great tank driver b/c i go after armour instead of just mindlessly blowing up infantry (don't get me wrong, i love to watch the bodies fly in the air after i plant a shell in their ass... i just get more satisfaction from blowing up a tank into a black cinderbox)

i love daging ... for dif reasons bear .. i sit in the bushes just off the u.s airstrip with my m95 shoot pilots out of the cockpit den either steal the plane or lay claymores near em =]

Karkand has no jets and helis. Karkand has limited armor vehicles. Hence, lots of footsoldiering and shooting on the ground..and you wonder why people play it over and over over again..

In all seriousness, name another map that can match the fast-paced gameness(?) of Kark. Mash: no. Sharqi: almost. I'd like to have a 24/7 "field maps" in my favorites for a little balance like Clean Sweep and *Zatar Wetlands.

But in all seriousness, 24/7 WAKE/KARK FTW!1!ONE!ELEVEN1!

I guess I can be classified as a Karkand "whore" and I don't have shame in it. I'm an infantry loving BF2 player, so my staple maps are Karkand and Sharqi, which provide the closest and most appealing infantry fighting. Sure Wake and Oman may have infantry fighting, but I like my flags close together and the action fast. I don't like having to go long distances on foot to go from one flag to another, hence why I mostly play Karkand and Sharqi. Does that make me less skilled on other maps, sure. I'm not an armor/plane/helo guy. I like to kill on the ground, although I do get in a vehicle from time to time. Another reason is that I just don't like alot of the maps in BF2. Other than Karkand and Sharqi, the only maps I play are Wake, Oilfields, Clean Sweep, and Wake. But those are when I feel like being in a vehicle, which isn't often. As for getting tired of the same map(s), why do you think I play like 45 mins a day average. I does get boring, but those are the only maps that appeal to me. If I'm any kind of whore, it's an infantry whore.

Quite frankly, I only play Karkand if I want to get points.  Cause its really easy to get some good medic time in.  I havent really found a good place to snipe because of the linear approach of the map.  Karkand is fun because I enjoy a good infantry map server.  I used to play Berlin [No Explosives] back in my 1942 days, and I got really used to it.  Of course the guns are a... very tad different, but it was fun.

I actually like Sharqi better.  Mostly cause every kit can be used to its full potential.  One sniper can keep an entire CP pinned down.  ATs can come out of nowhere, assualt is.. well... cannon fodder :p .  But I like Karkand simply because of its infantry based combat.  And I love infy.
