Ok this is the site that is kick ass they have everything you need from motherboards to motherboards/pro combos. Basically everything that takes to make a computer run it has. pricewatch as been my place to get pc parts from and now I'm going to share it with you all. I bought my system there.

3700+ amd pro

fans
ect.

This is what I call the God site for computer nerds with a credit card. Check it out you won't be dissapointed.

the only problem with it is that you have to look into where you are getting the prices and parts from.  A lot of the companies that are offering the bare-bottom prices are very shady and some have some terrible customer service, which means if I have to pay the extra $10 or whatevr at newegg or a strong competitor I will do it because I know I will get top notch support and reliability.

Before purchasing from any of the stores, I recommend checking out their ratings/info on the better business bureau www.bbb.org (I believe), and www.resellerratings.com

Just shop with newegg. I will add tigerdirect.com as well. Just placed an order with them and had excellent customer service (only reason I did, was because newegg didn't carry what I wanted).

Sometimes 10$ or so just aint worth it. ESPECIALLY when it comes to motherboards which are just about guaranteed to have a 2/100 failure rate. RAM used to be a safe bet, but anymore with the larger sticks and less than a 1% chip yeild per wafer at the time of make (because all the rest get F'ed up in the production process), bad apples slip through. Processors have usually always been a safe bet. Probably less than 1 out of 2000 is bad.

So RAM and CPU and things with outside warranties like HD's. Safe bet from just about anywhere.

Anything you'd need to RMA, like a monitor, motherboard, even soundcard. Get it from newegg.

Newegg doesnt have the best policy on dead pixels however.  I plan on ordering a LCD monitor in the next couple weeks and I don't know whether to pay the extra $100 and buy it at a local store and if I do have dead pixels return it, or to take a gamble with newegg for $100+ cheaper and risk that chance of getting stuck with a couple dead pixels, I think the minimum is 8 to return it. 

I've been trying to find a friend that works at Comp USA, Circuit City, Best Buy, or Fry's to try to buy me a LCD with their employee discout to make it the same price as newegg and have the ability to return it if there is a dead pixel but I have had no luck.  If you're in the Seattle area and work at a monitor store hit me up : )

you dotn actually buy the parts from pricewatch.. you buy the parts from other vendors. pricewatch just gives u the lowest price. and most ppl already know about it.

You are totally right. I forgot about that policy. I lucked out with no dead pixels, but I do remember stressing about that

With the negative reviews I guess I should search a lil better before I buy from online. Now I'm a lil worried about purchasing some more stuff from there.

I didn't think it was newegg's policy though, I thought it was more specifically from the manufacturer.  That is where you have to decide that if you want, you can go to the store and pick up the box, ask for it to be plugged in and see if it has any dead pixels, then buy.  Up to you.
