I usually have a ping around 40-80 but a few mins into a game and there it is, connection problem. it's getting so bad i can't even play. I ran a virus scan and 2 diffrent spyware proggys (which are up to date) and all 3 cam up negative. Is anyone else haveing the same problem or can give me some advise it would be appreciated.

My rig,
3.4G P4
1G Ram
256mb GeForce 6800 Ultra
Int Conn= Cable (no router)

im patched to the latest and all drivers should be up to date.

Try this change PB check

How dos it work ?

Step 1: Ok, the first step is very simple, join any BF2 online server which is running punkbuster, preferably a ranked one.

Step 2: Once you are in, and respawned somewhere, press the ` key. This key is located on most keyboards above the tab key and to the left of the 1 key

Step 3: Once you have pressed this, a large white box should drop down with a load of text in it. Type "pb_sleep 500" (without the quotation marks) and hit the enter key

Step 4: Once you have done this, make sure the box is still up and type pb_writecfg to save your settings

Peace Boris

Also make sure that nothing is running in the backround that is using bandwith. I have left outlook open a few times while playing and when it would go to check for new mail there would be a short time of high pings.

if youwan2 make sure nothing is runing in the Bg other then what you need to try this

click star > run> type in

msconfig go start up and click disable all ( don't worry it will recheck it self all the ones it needs ) click ok it will ask you to restart it will restart Pop up box will come up sayng u made changes tick the box click ok

that should disable everything you dont need2 and maby even improve the loading time of your windows

If you did all the steps "including step4" then you don't need to doit every time.
