if you play a session on your friends computer you wont have to bitch and moan bacuase of "wrong layout".

isnt this already done by loggin into your account??? cuz thats the way it is at my friends house.
to keep you from having to map all of your key settings when/if you reinstall BF2 or when you log in with your account on a different PC.
I use a Belkin Nostromo, it includes a profile app that loads when you start spefic exes and loads your setting for that specific game.

you do that by saying...keep accounts on the compy. keep controls. ive reinstalled 7 times, never EVER had to reset my keys.
He's talking(I think) about keeping them on like, the account server. that way even if you reformat or go to another computer(one that would have no knowledge of your existence up to that point) your settings would be sent along with say, the BFHQ data.

Excellent idea.. however i would sooner see the Punish for team kill feature removed! i have had enough it.. i left a server last night because of it.. and instead of busting into another one i just quit out the game... could'nt be bothered!
I placed a clay down. jumped in a jeep and headed to another location as i realised the action was over the other side the map.. and it comes up on my screen punish!! from the clay!! so my clay gets picked up and unfortuntly one of our guys was their too!!! im sorry but is that my fault??? should i place a leash on all other players???
Its no different when someone runs in front of you!! punish!! for fuck sake!!! would you run in front of car for real? if you did who's fault would it be!!! not the drivers thats for sure!!!!

ummm... why dont you just back up the profiles folder in /My Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles
that contains ALL your keybindings, AND prevents that stupid tutorial guy from bugging you next reinstall.

Like the other guy said, all you have to do is keep a copy of your controls.con file (my documents/battlefield 2/profiles/001 - or whatever your main profile is 002, 003 etc). A good idea is to email it your web account, like hotmail, and it can happily sit there on their server until you need to retrieve it later.

I would like to see server saving my weapon confing , unlocks\defoults . I'm tired of choosing weapons every login ...
also add no more commanders guy voice if ur logged into an account more than 150 points...

As great as we make cs source seem not even CS has that ability after all of these years, you have to reinstall you have to re map your contols and binds...Nikola Bathory wrote:

Its honestly not hard at all to save your config files to another drive and then just copy controls.cfg right back to the 0001 profile folder.
On CS Source you don't exactly have to log into an online user to play (and steam doesn't count, I mean when in CS itself). Yeah, I'd like to see it remember your controls (since controls are tied to that login, why not let it remember the controls too?)
I just wish that they'd either fix the friggin accoutn server login so it works faster than a full minute, or else allow us a friggin cancel button!
