Stupid Basic Air Defense Badge

To get the Basic Air Defense Badge you need to be in a Stinger or AA vehicle for 5 minutes in 1 round.
The first time i tried to get it i was in for around 10 minutes, no badge. Second time i was in a stinger for way over 5 minutes. I have tried loads of times but with no luck. Am i doing anything wrong? And also just to check is a stinger the AA gun with two tubes?

ya i bet hmm have u tryed killen anything while in it? prolly wont work but
and hey u can always get ur A-D ribbon..3 mins in Sam-13 kills

You can actually get the Air Defense Badge and Ribbon by getting in an AA vehicle (ie Linebacker) and simply shooting infantry... kinda lame I know.. but it works..

I got my Air Defense Ribbon in a round where I was in an AA vehicle and didn't shoot one heli or plane down the whole round (no one was really flying...). I was simply taking out infantry, jeeps, tanks, other AA vehicles, etc.

Hit the eleven kill mark and *boom* "You have been recomended for an award..."

Dunno if this'll help, but the most effective stationery AA's are the ones on the Essex. Y'know when you see JohnDoe [USS Essex] JaneDoe. I got mine in that one.

just got on the AA vehicles *bradly, etc... you dont need to get air kills... neceseraly.. you can use it like a lav to kill ground targets.. that way you will get not only the badge but also the ribbon
