AF, 1.3 and Weapon Unlocks?

I haven't really been paying attention with the news of the patch and all, but wouldn't it be sort of smart this time if they actually let people who buy the f**cking booster pack Armored Fury be able to receive weapon unlocks? With patch 1.3 they could do like they did with the SF patch, put weapons in for people that didn't buy SF or whatever. Wouldn't that be a good idea? Or does noone know what I'm trying to say..?

It just pissed me off that I paid 10 dollars and wasted my time downloading Euro Force to find that indeed I could not unlock weapons and could only use the new stuff if I was the Euro Union army....I could pick up their weapons but on the huge euro force maps, it was kinda hard. I just hope they bring new weapon unlocks with the 1.3 and AF updates..

No that aint smart!!!! Ur suggesting to EA to make new weapons, thats cool, but then ur saying put them in the booster pack so we have to pay 10 euros/pounds/dollars what ever to get them..I allready paid 50 euros once to get weapons, 30 again to weapons and I'm not going to pay another 10 to get more weapons,,...
And it would be unfair to those who don't buy the booster packs, and that leads to moanin and bitchin, leads to EA havin to do more work, which they aren't good at

Well with EF we got 2 unlocks for anti tank and sniper. You did'nt have to buy EF If I remember correctly.

Nothing about weapon unlocks has been mentioned with this new patch or AF.

It would be cool to get free unlock for existing weapons! I only need two more!!!

ea wont bf 2142 is coming quick only af and 1 or 2 patch and we must all go to bf 2142(200 years after ww II and bf 1942(i hope we can take our rewards ect. to bf 2142))

I seriously doubt that. That wouldn't make much sense anyway. While BF2142 will be using the BF2 engine, it isn't an expansion to the game. Rankings, badges, etc wouldn't make any sense considering the gameplay takes place, like you said, 200 years into the future. It's a seperate game completely. And I know people have complained about how it looks like a mod, etc, etc because it uses the same engine. Are Doom3, Quake4 and the soon to be release Enemy Territory: Quake Wars all the same game? They all use the Doom3 engine afterall. What about all of the games that have used the different Unreal engines?

Anyhow, back on topic. I don't think new weapons are really necessary. There are a whole bunch of weapons to choose from now and all adding weapons would do is get people mad about how the new ones are either overpowered or underpowered. With three new maps, new planes and helicopters, I think that's plenty for a measly $10.

i think new unlocks are always good, either in the patch or the booster. personally i have never shot more than a paintball or BB gun in my life, so playing with all the guns in bf2 is really fun. adding more to the vast collection of weapons would be cool. if you ask anybody getting more unlocks is a good idea. the problem is going to come with implimentation.

personally i would like to see them add all the SF weapons to the game like the g36k and the scar-h.

im a first sarge, just convert it to whatever it would be called in 2142. which could likely still be first sarge. the USMC ranks have not changed much at all since the corps has started to present day. in real life anyway

Tho I agree that there shouldnt be a problem using the current ranks in that fictional game; the structure has been changed quite a few times, merging and unmerging of ranks and titles...

If we were going to carry our ranks over to a WW2 Marine/Pacific theater BF, they would have to merge quite a few people...

And calling a Marine Sergeant "sarge" is counteractive to the Marine way...

I would love to see the SCAR-H and even Warrant Officers...

cause he already bought it lol.... EA can do whatever they want because they're the studio paying dice for their hard work. I am sure if dice has the bankroll that Valve did they probably wouldnt be charging for booster packs and other worthless things of the like.

As previously stated, since there are no new armies there are probably no new unlocks. Also, I recall one dice developer saying that they can't add more unlocks due to memory constraints (I would give a source but it was one of the Dice interviews at totalbf2.com and those have been deleted).

It's beyond me why EF weapons may be unlocked if you own SF but not if you own EF itself. No logic whatsoever. It can't be explained with the memory problem, since they're already SF unlocks. Oh well I don't have it but might have bought it if those 2 unlocks could be accessed.

The 2 unlocks you got with the release of EF where nog EF unlocks. If you did not buy EF you would have gotten them too. The 2 unlocks where issues with the patch 1.21 for the people that own SF. Since Dice was too lazy to issue every classe in SF with a tier2 unlock, they made up for it by adding 2 EF weapons as tier 2 unlocks for SF.

So there is your logic.

Not if you practice with the SVD a bit,it's just awesome for all the SF maps,there's so much fog everywhere that the SVD is just the best choice.

And yeah,EA f*cked up pretty good with having SF unlocks for BF2 but nothing for SF in return.
