Hi, the following system is running fine atm but I´m not shure about my settings in BF2. I have the following components:

AMD64 4000+
ASUS A8N-SLI-SE
1024MB Corsair TwinX CL2 (will upgrade to 2048 sooner or later)
MSI 7900GTX 2TD512E
Sound: onboard crap(?)

My Settings in BF2 are all high, AA 2x, sight 100%, resolution 1280 x 1024 on 19"CRT. It looks great but sometimes I feel like a little bit jerking/laggy at the beginning of a new round. After some seconds its fine though.

I´m not shure about my sound too. I set it to hardware, middle, EAX off. Better switch to software and low?

You guys know some trips to tune it up? I dont want to oc anything (not yet)

More ram will be a great addition. http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_1.html Clean up a lot of jerkyness. Good luck! ohh and go software medium for headset sound. It will be fine.

oh and get the same speed of ram plz.. it could hurt your comp if not.. plus just a little explanation about the lag at the beginning... thats the ram loading map textures... more ram will make u load in faster, and not have that lag.  if u put texture settings on low.. youll notice u have no beginning lag tadaa

Definitely get 2gb: I had the issue you have at the start of a round with some hardware stuttering/lag, and then it'll stop after about 30 seconds. It stopped once I got 2gb of good RAM.

Also, if you buy a separate sound card, you'll notice a difference. On-board sound is inferior to a dedicated card like an Audigy 2 or X-Fi. I recently bought an X-Fi, and the sounds are so crisp it's untrue!

ok, RAM is on its way. Might try my X-FI this evening.

EDIT: my BF2-SF doesnt work propperly atm. While loading the map and doing this shaderthingy it quits around 62%, I´ve tried every map, but none of them works... Ideas? Anybody?
