As the topic suggests, I'm in need of advice, I have a few ideas of my own would just like a few words of wisdom from others.

This is the final part of my first dabble into home build computers, so it's got to be decent, I'd say a maximum of around £180 (At current exchanges that comes to around $330)

I'm not overly worried about noise, just want a good water cooling system, preferably with both CPU and VGA coolers. Also if it matters I have my CPU and Video card overclocked.

this might not be the best site to ask for advanced (kinda) thing like this

visit xtremesystems.com and look in the liquid cooling section

and read up the basic water cooling guide

Mainly because my room is pretty hot so my temps suffer, and it's just something I want, finally got a decent job in my holidays, so I can afford to spend a bit, I wanted one when I first built this PC, but couldn't afford it at the time.

Mix anti freeze and water in a balanced ratio and set a coffee mug full inside your tower. Adding a sugar cube per day will cause a natural refrigeration to occur.
Try it

Damn man.....what was your CPU running at before?  What CPU is it, and are you overclocking it like crazy?

I have an AMD 4000+ San Diego that I have overclocked from 2.4ghz to 2.8ghz.  It runs stable......and it idles at 33 C and 44 C under max load and that is on air cooling with a stock AMD heatsink and fan (albeit the stock heatsink that comes with the new dual core Opteron line, it comes with copper heatpipes).  The only other thing "special" that I've done is leave my side panel off, and put a little floor fan next to my computer.

kinglou that's why you don't buy water cooling "kits"
those mediocre ones are WORSE than good air cooling... especially those zalman reserator 1 and 1+

they look pretty cool.. but they are WORSE then stock aircooling..
isn't it funny? costs like $200 or something i forgot

no overclocking, three reasons i can think of:
I used some arctic silver that was about 2 years old
The CPU block is a funny round thing that moves while you're securing, can't be good!
Its passive meaning takes longer to cool, OK so the surface area's massive but I doubt I could get as much as an actively cooled water system

Ok a question for the people mentioning overclocking on here - I've messed around with it a bit, and why do you bother with it? I run bf2 with everything maxed out and it is more than playable with zero lag - on this system:

AMD64 3500+ (Stock cooler, 2.2 Ghz, not overclocked)
2GB PC3200 RAM (DDR400, standard timings etc)
Nvidia GeForce 6800 (not overclocked, just as it was out of the box)
Creative SB Live 24-bit

This system really didnt cost that much money, and itll run at a nice 37-40 degrees with hardly any fluctuation in temp quite happily! I dont see how you will get much of a performance increase (specifically in bf2) with any overclocking?!

I was running water cooling until a short time ago.  Every so often you do have to disassemble the system and clean it out.  Mine was due, and I just got lazy, but I've been doing it for a number years now; started with my P3 700MHz that I overclocked to nearly 1GHz.  With that said, the folks over at PC Perspective have put together a pretty nice list of Euro suppliers of H2o cooling equipment.  Like the others have said, I would avoid the mass produced crap.  I know you can't order from Danger Den, but you may want to check the site to see what quality H2o gear looks like.
