you ask why? How can you continue a series if the world ends?

WTF with Cortana?! And supposedly him and the Covenent are going to be working together?! Dude- COME ON! Only fighting the flood gets to be a pain in the ass.

I honestly think the only good thing that will come from this is some cool multiplayer action.

The reason the movie will kick ass is because of the story previous to Halo1. I think it'll make for a semi-decent movie. HA, hopefully not as bad as Doom did though.

Ive been playing pc games for over 15 years now and Halo ranks as still one of the best FPS games ive ever played.I not sure exactly what it is but they put together a very nice package with gameplay,visuals and the soundtrack/audio was sublime....so im very keen to c what h3 pulls out,despite not even playing halo 2 yet..((

yeah, books were sweet. i hope sam l. jackson does get to play sgt. johnson. i can just see him as sgt. johson.

and i heard on tv a couple of days ago that ben affleck might be playing the master chief. if he does play as the master chief, i wont see the movie. ben affleck will totally ruin the master chief. but i barely heard this on tv. i was in the gym and the tv was on and i heard something about the movie halo and ben affleck as the master chief. this is where i also heard sam l. jackson might play sgt. johnson. i hope to god that i didnt actually hear ben affleck.

Please educate yourself first before jumping to conclusions. The Halo MOVIE is not going to be based on the game, but rather on the book Fall of Reach, which takes place during Master-Chiefs childhood and teen years.

Infact the movie is called Halo: The Fall of Reach.

Also keep in mind PETER JACKSON is producing this little diddy, with Alex Garland (28 days later) writing the script and WETA doing the cgi magic. This is no Uwe Boll piece.

I agree w/ agamemnar, its not going to be based on the game... but the book fall of reach, where master chief gets his training (at 6!!!) and how the covenant met the humans and how they went to the first halo ring...

for rundje, the main reason i think u were dissapointed w/ halo 2 is that u didnt read first strike best halo book out there and u can see the true power of the masterchief

Yeah, most people who didn't like halo 2 probably didn't read the books and get the full appreciation of the storyline like we did...although I was somewhat dissapointed with the H2 campaign I know now they have H3 to fill in the blanks...and I heard another novel's on the way as well.

I haven't read any of the books and I thought (for the most part) that H2's campaign was great... I didn't much like playing as the Arbiter too much, then again the only part of Halo I am good at is the vehicles (kind of the opposite with BF2... ... I don't get it...).

You know on the FAQ, how it says there is an easter egg? I think it is the sign that has a grunt crossing, or it is the halo like structures in the back ground, either way, the city works department stays up with current events!

You know what movie would kick ass? A Starcraft movie. God, the last book was the best, and the game was awesome. The 1st was ok and the 2nd sucked.

i finally got my xbox fixed, and now im playing halo! i got owned couple of days ago though on xbox live, i havent played in months cause my xbox broke. i played with a friend and i totally get killed. hes amazing with a sniper rifle; i'll be running around and he'll get a headshot on his first shot, even if i jump up and down and crouch and all that. i will get revenge!!! but he was only good long range, in close range i still prevailed

this was also the first time ive played halo since i read the books and after reading the books i find that the gaming experience has increased by loads!!! when you play halo after reading halo:fall of reach, everything makes more sense and you know what is going on behind the scenes and stuff too.

i highly recommend people to read to books for 2 main reasons:

1. enhances gaming experience
2. highly enjoyably trilogy, worth it to read all 3 books (one of the best, if not the best, sci fi books ever written in my opinion)

Yes it was the grunt crossing, the "halo like structures" are pieces of the space elevator that was destroyed when you hitched a ride off of the covie cruiser and escaped New Mombassa, you'll know what I'm talking about if you played H2. Bungie also said that the mountain behind the rings is Kilimanjaro, doesn't seem that likely but whatever...

I don't remember is being destroyed...

Oh, and did you notice that master cheif just appeared in the spot behind the cortana blur?, he didn't really start walking on that path. Oh, and thats hot the Regular AR, it has a sound/ light supressor and seems a tad smaller, MA3B?

Well, technically you never see it fall to pieces, but it can be inferred that the slipspace explosion destroyed it (Bungie confirmed that those were indeed pieces of the tower).
As for the AR yeah I think it is a little different, hopefully it's more accurate but not a replacement for the BR.

Dude, seriously. I don't see why Halo is such a big deal. I played the first one and found some funny parts. But it seemed like any other FPS to me. Granted I never played it online, I don't think there is much room for fun considering the lack of diversity on the vehicles and weapons. BF2 is the wave of the future for FPS, Halo is just too plain.
