sup all,

thinking of getting a lcd monitor but i play bf2 so i was woundering if anyone plays with a lcd, what is the brand, what is your comp set up. what are your settings in the game. i have been looking at a 20.1 samsung 5ms with a dvi conection, i guess im mostly worried about tears, and ghosting and i want to hear from other gamers ,and what they think before i purchase.

thanks logan

You cant go wrong with Samsung or Viewsonic, they are the best LCD manufacturers.

Stay well away from sony.

yeah the biggest problem with lcd's is the native resolution is where it looks best (although it doesn't seem to mater the resolution in the game for me) but in windows all type is blurry except in the native resolution.

i have a 17" widescreen on my laptop (yes i play BF2 with it) and a 19" samsung at home.

i suggest you do what i did and thats go to best buy, or circuit city, or some other place that has lots of screens side by side all showing the same thing and pick which you like best (also look at the refresh rate and such.)

i found circuit city most useful because all the screens were connected to a laptop and you could mess around with the resolutions and such to see how they looked and what they did. it will also show you which one loads up the change the quickest.

but thats just what i did when i got mine. hope it helps

i have no problems with mine (except i had to go in and change the screen refresh rate settings within BF2 files because my monitor didn't support the default that BF2 starts with. )

Have the Samsung SyncMaster 913v 19inch LCD running in game at 1024x768, it's superb and dirt cheap to buy these days as well.

Graphics are crystal clear, no dead pixels or any other problems.

Not all LCD’s are created equal!

Look at these (examples only);

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6824116362

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6824116352

The one I would pick would be the one with the fastest Response Time! In the examples above, it would be the last one with 3ms (milliseconds).

How it was explained to me is this is the measurement of the time it takes the information to go from your video card to when your monitor displays the information on the screen (less is better).

After a quick look, I would get this one if I was in the market!

It is a 4ms 19in.

I have a very old MAG vision LCD, it is 15 inches and have had any problems with it at all. I think I bought it in like 2002 mayb 2001. I haven't had problems with it at all. I havent had any ghosting, no tearing or dead pixels. The only problem i have is that I had the monitor cord bent and now i get funny colors sometimes so all i have to do it straighten the cord and its just fine.

Given how well my Samsung 175v has performed,
I'd likely select that same exact Samsung 20" for an upgrade.
thank, i did purchase it the other day. now im waiting for it to show up. thaks for all the help guys.
