Yes, the CD package is really cool. For those that don't know, they put 2 steroscopic lenses as part of the cover and they have pages of artwork in 3D to look at. Very cool.

As far as the music goes, I have been a TOOL fan since day one and I think they have moved forward. When the forst song hits, you know it's TOOL. They do keep to the same stylings but if you listen to track #8 (Rosetta Stoned ) you will know that they are always trying something different. So some same but much different.

Go see them live if you can. I saw them on the Lateralis tour and it was the best show I have ever seen (including Pink Floyd).

Just listen to it, who cares if it sounds anything like a previous album??? It's TOOL!

I got this song on my PC:

Tool - Opiate

Its nice at the beginning but later on he starts singing about "we want to r@pe you"... and god too..

i mean... uhh?

Some light on the reason why he talks/sings about such things maybe?

been listening to it in my car and computer for the past week.  Can't get enough of 10,000 Days(wings part 2),
best track on the album.  The Pot is #2 for me for now.

There's some downsides to it too....the "interludes" dont do it for me.

i rate it at their 3rd best album after Aenima and Lateralus.

and just so people know I saw them back in 94?? (i think) at lollapalooza - St. Louis.  They were good...but Primus kicked ass.

As will my dad.. He was a die-hard King Crimson fan (still is), and will go to Ruisrock with me to see Tool.. Ahh progressive rock and metal.. Narrowing the gap between generations...

Alright tool fans, having never listened to them, what album/songs would you recommend most as an introduction?
