I am so happy,
i just got my basic knife and basic pistol in one round on sharqi

finally !!

:-)

It was very cool sneaking around and waiting for the enemy to come. One time i was waiting at the hotel and 3 ppl jumped in. They didn't see me cause i was hiding and i killed them all 3 with the pistol .. I didn't knew that this could be possible. I am looking forward in earning the veteran knife and pistol badges. This will be a big challenge i think.

I will admit. I didn't get the basic knife until I got like SSgt because I didn't make an effort to kill 7 peeps in a round. Eventually, I decided to go for it when that was the only basic badge I didn't have, other than explosives. Btw, gj. I failed to say so in my original post.

If you go for basic, you'd probably get vet at the same time because of the global knifings.

The IAR requirements for Basic and Veteran knife and pistol are ridiculous.

Basic pistol: 5 IAR
Veteran pistol: 7 IAR

Basic knife: 7 IAR
Veteran knife: 7 IAR

So pretty much as long as you meet the global kill requirements, you will be awarded both Basic and Veteran knife, with Veteran Pistol to come 2 kills after getting Basic. It's kind of like Expert Explosives, 37 in a round and 300 global...sure, because 300 global is going to be the bitch...

I've never found pistol badges all that hard, when I got my basic pistol it was purely by accident. I didn't intend to get it, I just happened to be a sniper and finished off a few people with the pistol.

I would have gotten my expert knife a bit ago but at the time I didn't have the global requirements, currently the same with the pistol.. I don't have enough global kills with the pistol to get the expert.

The only badge I can say i've truly gone after was the Expert sniper, and I didn't do it the easy way. It was all sniper rifle, pistol and knife. None of that "i'll get the badge by armour whoring" pussiness, I did it the real way.

I wonder what we'd see with a lot of the higher ranking players if it was a requirement of the kit badges that you must do the kills with the kit itself (like I did with the sniper) and if you did any of the kills in armour etc it wouldn't count towards the badge...

Erm, surely all you need to do is be a sniper and rather than going for headshots go for the body instead. Then finish them off with a pistol. Shouldn't be that hard.

It's good work. I never actually thought to try and get both in the same round. I was just happy enough to get one that I didn't bother with the other. Sure, it's only Basic but two seperate badges in a round are always a cool thing. I was pretty happy with Vet Pistol and Vet Sniper in a round.

the Expert award is tarnished because of so many knife and pistol servers full of cheaters these days. Use to be you had to be good with the knife and pistol to get the expert now everyone just cheats to get em.

i got my expert knife badge legitly, it was a 45/64 players server on karkand, i was medic (so i can heal myself), and got 20 kills with knife.
