Hey guys
i've noticed that my video card is generating alot of noise.
The only thing i hear in my case is the video card fan running.
I just want to know if there is any fan that i can replace the one that came with the card.

I have a eVGA 6600GT 128mb AGP card.

Any help would be appreciated

So then when i get one of those 2, all i need to do is just take off my fan on the card now, and install that.

Any other feedback??

i would say get the icestorm for a 6600. on my freinds comp it dropped his temp from 61 (while playing bf2) to about 49 (while playing bf2). installing isnt that bad. check out their website. i dont know it off hand but google vga icestorm and it should pop up.

I was also wondering if there is a program that can reduce the rpm of my video card fan.
I have a fan monitor program but it only allows me to change my CPU fan rpm.
It won't detect the case fan or the video card fan.

if u change to a lower rpm... the card may become damaged, zalman vf900cu has an rpm changer though...

That shows how well that particular fan performs on different rpm's.

Case help, this one has 2 thermaletake fans blowing onto the video and cpu.  THa Zalman fan also blows over the video cards, and I have three exhaust fan (Two in back and one on top) that takes care of the warm air.

Nothing ever gets hot, and it is a lot quiter than you think.  Only 14 fans running :-)

Case was about 150, CPU heatsink was around 50.

They make the best case's IMO.

CPU / Video is overclocked and never breaks 105 F under load.

I might be thinking that its my case fan now.
The rear fan is noisy, if i stop it with something i notice a big difference in sound.
I was thinking about getting a case fan and a video card fan.
As of now im getting the Zalman V700 cu video card fan, any ideas on a case fan?

I know that zalman fans are really quiet, my zalman cpu fan is really quiet,
for the case fan i don't really care about airflow or how much CFM it has.
Basically this is what you get with a 60$, noise, and its pissing me off.

This is the place where i shop for computer stuff at, any help with picking out a case fan would be greatly appreciated

There is a program that can change Video Card fan speed but its only for ATI. its called ATI tool, which also works as an overclocking program.

Major changes to the latest stable version are:

    * Added support for NVIDIA video cards
    * Addded support for ATI X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900
    * Added voltage control for ATI X1800
    * Added current draw monitoring for ATI X1800
    * Added VDDCI change for ATI X1900
    * Fan & Voltage settings can be saved to a profile now

So i guess all nvidia cards right now work(except the 7900's)

I have the 6600gt 128mb and had a heating problem so I got the zalman vf700 its the only heatsink and fan that will fit onto it , I did extensive research on this and it is the ONLY one that will but it does the job, and the little blue heatsinks you get get with it NEED to go on to it but you will need to file it down to size so it will fit on..

I think im going to be getting that fan this week.
I couldn't find anyone that would fit on the 6600GT.
Thanks for all your help.

Do you have any ideas for a case fan?
The sound is basically being caused by the video card and case fan at the back, and its annoying me.
I don't really care about the airflow the fan gives in the back, just the noise.
