Mashtuur is INCREDIBLY BORING to me whenever I play it. Karkand has action while mashtuur is a fuckin sniper fest with half the team on top of the mosque and the rest in jeeps driving randomly around.

Karkand is better cause theres more action, more places to flank, easy to get points. But no map beats Shariq, thats the ultimate map I rekon.

When I look at the two maps, I question the game designers on their choice of vehicle distribution. You should have no Armor in Mashtuur, each side should have one or two APC's, and the standard transports. In Karkand, I again feel APC's are the best choice. The Armor is only in Karkand for the whores and spawn campers. If you put attack, or even scout choppers in Karkand, I think that would change everyone's love for the map. I'm just rambling on... The short of it is I prefer Mashtuur, but both maps are good.

Mashtuur is clearly much more enjoyable especially on 64 man! 64 man Karkand is completely wank just millionsof nades and clays with 2 apcs spawn raping makes that map pointless!!! Bored of Karkand now bring on JALALABAD!!!

Only one or two good places for sniping/many places to snipe, but enough paths to dodge snipers. (unlike Wake, for example)

Total grenade and claymore spamming/big enough for them to be less effective.

Support and medic classes only ones worth using/other classes are viable as well as those two
1.- back base attacking guarantee
2.-full of noobsnipers easy to kill with a simple ak
3.-that is half true all times there is somebody capturing a flag there are people trowing only grenades
4.-engi in karkand is really useful when u are in a tank lamesnipers can get a lot of points without using sniper rifles

most servers do change to karkand a lot and people may be too lazy to leave. i have it as my most played map but i dont like it the most. from now on im going to stop being lazy and stop playing that map when the server changes to it.

Its my third most played map myself.  Now I've got to 20k though, I can kick back a bit and keep up my anti-tanking. Hopefully Jolt 24/7 Smoke Screen will soon fear my name! muhahaha!

Although I totally agree that Mashtuur is better, Karkand is an Assault map, one team gets uncap and the other team is defending their homeland. Mashtuur on the other hand is a Double Assault in which neither team has uncaps (though some variations have Uncaps because of the size) Mashtuur is 360 degree approachability(is that a word? lol) map and Karkand has a few interesting ways to enter/exit combat or pull a fast one on the enemy. The ONLY bad thing about mashtuur is that it was the cause for the 1 player per vehicle can cap.....flying around the tightly placed CP's in a helo with 6 people=stat padding...no other map that's worth mentioning *cough* Shonghua Stalemate *cough* is like that =]

So in conclusion...they're both designed to fit their game mode VERY well but Mashtuur is the ultimate infantry map

I just want to defend Karkand a bit ...

2 APCs and 1 tank each/1 tank each
1. If you play the 64 player map with 64 players this is very okay because there is a class called AT, and these guys will take the armor out and they are happy about the kills
2. If you play the 64 player map with less then 64 players get off this lamer server. DICE made different map sizes for a [good] reason.
3. If you don't like armor battles, go play infantry only on 1.4 or why don't you just join infantry only servers now?

US has uncap base/neither side has uncap base
Where is the problem? The MEC have all the flags at the beginning. If they defend well at the hotel and Square at the beginning and maybe place some soldiers at their mainbase for defense the USMC won't ever get a base for more than 2 minutes

US cant lose vehicles/both sides can lose vehicles
I must admit this is a real big - for Karkand, but not a too big + for Mashtuur. If one side has both armor spawns, then this team pretty much ownz.

This is because in Karkand you don't need transport helicopters [Humvee will do the job], in mashtuur you do.

If you don't find more than one or two good places for sniping in Karkand you better stop attempting to be a sniper.

This is to keep all the USMC noobs which run without any intelligence right into the death away from the MEC bases.

Nah, I play very often Spec Ops, Assault and sometimes AT on Karkand. And the armor whores are often Engineer. Countless Snipers are there everywhere.

Full of pointwhores who care only about knife badges and getting their rank up/much more teamwork orientated
If you don't like people who want to get many points in this game just play unranked [more teamplay etc.] or TRY MODs.

Very linear map/360 degree apporachable map
Aha, so in Karkand you have 1 or 2 massive fronts with a lot of cool army vs army infantry battle with armor backup, and in mashtuur it's lone wolf vs lone wolf all the time because everybody is going somewhere else ? great..

I'd love to play more Mashtuur then I do, but it's hard to find a sever that will allow my ping and also have good players. The 24/7 insomnia Mashtuur normally ends in one side totally pwning the other side due to players who just don’t care and simply sit around.

That's because the combination Karkand/Sharqi/Mashtuur gives you everything.

Karkand: US has uncaps, starts with additional APC on size 32
Sharqi: MEC has uncaps, starts with additional APC
Mashtuur: sides and starting positions are equal

It's wrong to compare Karkand with Mashtuur because they are so different.  If you have to compare it to anything, Sharqi is the one.
