Anyone Else feel that in the Past 12 years the only Parties in America are Liberal (Republicans) and Socialists (Democrats).

Who can a Fiscally and Socially conservative person vote for any more????

After see the Republican getting basically all braches of government and not doing a damn thing positive (except lower taxes), I will no longer vote Republican unless the party is shaken up.

Where is the Federal vouchers for a Private School system, Smaller Government, Troops pulled out of Europe, Immigration laws being enforce, Boarders being secured, Stronger drug laws, what is with the huge increase in entitlement (welfare) spending, Not fixing social security, A war that is bankrupting America (good cause, too expensive to pay for alone), fair trade, ....

Bush, Clinton, Kerry, Bush..... different turd, same smell.

If one is fiscally conservative, and socially liberal, the Libertarian party reflects those views very nicely.

Having said that, the LP probably doesn't reflect your views on immigration; they support open borders (Personally I think a liberal guest worker visa system would be best, but I am a bit rightish on that issue for a libertarian).  In any case, the LP will not support stronger drug laws or enforcement, either (they are for legalization), but they are STRONG advocates of free trade...unlike George "bring back steel tariffs and farm subsidies" Bush.

By the way, with the money being shelled out to New Orleans, and on the war, you can bet that those tax cuts won't last.  Bush is the most fiscally irresponsable President since Johnson (and it wasn't easy for him to beat Clinton in that respect).

Libertairan is the wasy to go. Yeah, it's free and open immigration, but it's LEGAL immigration. Taxes get paid, job laws enforced, etc... so it's not the plague like it is today.

"the answer to this problem lies not in cutting off immigration, but in cutting the services that immigrants consume. The right to immigrate does not imply a right to welfare -- or any other government service. Moreover, this is not simply a matter of saving tax money. The Libertarian Party believes that most government welfare programs are destructive to the recipients themselves. Thus, immigrants would actually be better off without access to these programs."

It's more than just being a two party system.  The problem lies in that it currently takes so much money to run for any high-end office that you often end up with those already wealthy in office; just look how many of these politicians have spent millions of their own money running their campaign.  To me this is the purest definition of having the fox guarding the hen house.

Look at it like this:

If the Republicans control the goverment they do things that it seems no one likes and so everyone votes Democrat the next election.  The the Democrats spend the entire term trying to erase or overwrite the things the Rebulicans did and in the mean time get little to nothing done, which in turn, pisses everyone off.  Then everyone votes republican again and then the Republicans spend the next term erasing and overwriting everything the Democrats did.

ETC ETC ETC.

In the rare case that the Republicans and Democrats hold an equal part in the government, then ABSOULUTLY NOTHING gets done and everyone gets pissed.

Moral of the story:  Look forward to a dumptruck full of political bullshit for the rest of your natural life.

-49 KARMA!!!!! Holy shit you are my hero, I only got -13.

I think the Government needs a run off system of election in which the top two officials for the office face off.  That way when you get someone like Ross Perot or a Libertarian running you can vote your heart and not throw away your vote.  I am certain that Perot would have been Elected his first go around if this was the system in place, but it never will be because the D and R write legistlation and will never let another party come to power by legistlating FAIRNESS into the system.  People need to stop voting for these parties so that they will clean themselves up and the Government can be fixed. It's like choosing between Vanilla and French Vanilla Ice cream........ big deal I want Maple Nut.  Oh well, the media whores will continue pandering to them and selecting who will get elected with their coverage.

Elect me and It will be free M&Ms for everyone, the good ones with peanuts not those crappy bland ones without.

Why vote at all? Initially when I first became capable of voting I was quite excited to be able to do so, but now I am quite perturbed by the Republicans inability to use the power they have achieved( President, House, Senate, and now Supreme Court), and I'm not going to vote for a third party candidate that has no chance of winning. On top of that, living in Seattle makes me something of a political minority and makes voting on initiatives nearly pointless. Every few decades a political shift in terms of political parties occurs, it seems nothing notable has happened in that regard since the Depression. Until then I may just not vote at all, save for the possiblility that the Republican party gets its collective head out of its ass.

At least I can rest easy in knowing that Hillary won't win.

Ross Perot in 2016!

Well Mp30. I see your view here.  Not only do Republicans have power, but they don't use it.  All the things that they have been accused of they can disprove within a second.  The problem is they are all spineless! I say that if the Republicans were serious about what is going on in the world that they should take out Iran's Uranium Enrichment Program and go into North Korea. We already have proof Korea is testing nukes, and you don't need to enrich uranium to make nuclear power plants.  So, while the Repblicans cowar, people start to get weapons to destroy the USA. Here's another problem, people think it's wrong to blow up our enemy, yet they see fit to have our enemy blow himself AND us to bits. Republicans, stop being pussy's, go kick some ass!

Right, how does the majority rule intend to accomplish any of their goals if they are allowing themselves to be dominated by the minority?
