I need to know exactly how YOU got the badge. I am gonna try every single suggestion. I know there have been a lot of these award posts but i have had enough. I always get within 3 kills of the badge and the round ends. Give me the map, the area of the map, the amount of players on the map. So far, i have tried Wake island and Karkand.
I got mine on a 64 player Sharqi with like 30 players. I hung around the surveilance post/ construction site knifing people as they walked by.
The key is to follow the action and the UAV. I was fortunate enough to have the action stay around good knifing spots.

Yeh its really hard to get the kills in before the game ends... it took me a long time before I managed to get it - On a 64 player Karkand game half populated late one night (so it lasted longer than your average game), I was MEC running at the advancing US infantry (spawned on the first flag), so was mainly fighting in the alleyways and roads (by the car wreck) trying to avoid the tank and apc's. I think though that the circumstances of this particular game suited the knife as there were many ground troops persistently trying to get to the first flag. And also I played as a medic.
And yes check the UAV as this really helped me too.
Someone suggested to run around with the knife out and go mental, so thats what I did, switching to gun to stay alive! It worked in the end, but again be prepared for some games being 5 kills and 15 kills. Keep trying, hope this helps, good luck.

Got mine at Karkand, in the alleys at the hotel, no sweat really - just practice.
As mentioned a million times before, find a 64 player map with 16 - 20 players so the time drags out, that is way important - follow the UAV - thats where the action is !
I also imagine Warlord being a good map for knifing, in the Palace - almost got Exp Explosives there yesterday - almost :-(
* Sniperkit is good - the looks of sniper is very similar and often confusing if friend or foe.
* Assult is also good - put those flashbangs to work and stab away.
* Keep an eye on the map - often if u have a good commander he spots lone wolves in the outer rim of the map - those are easy targets without backup. Also good for roadkills :-)

Got my expert on Karkand.
I was USMC and the MEC just rushed the uncaps, going for our arty and spawn kills. Even after we took a couple flags across the lake, they just kept trying. Just hanging out around our uncaps got me 9 kills.
After that we took the Hotel and Square flags so combat was between the Square and Suburbs flags. All it took was me staying by the archway building with the road going through it. I'd just let MEC run down to the archway and go prone, then sneak in behind and stab them. Rinse, repeat. Last kill was a guy trying to climb the ladder at the Suburbs building.
In reality, this was a freak of nature round with the rush for the uncaps. You'd normally expect to get a number of kills in the alleys. I especially like the western alley by the drop-off. MEC snipers are always over there trying to get into sniping wars with the USMC snipers so you can usually hide out and pick them off. That's partly how I got my regular and vet.
The main trick is to learn the regular troop paths and find ways to get behind them. That and get good at standing kills. That way, you're sneaking in and running right behind guys. If they stop sprinting for a couple of seconds, bam.
Always be on the watch for medics coming to rez people. You just go prone near them and blamo, dead medic. Being prone at the time can help, particularly as a sniper since the sniper guille suits look the same and they probably won't look long enough to notice the red name tag.

Mine came pretty simple, I had to bust my ass to get basic and vet, I was psyched when i did, but patch 1.2 soon came along, then EVERYONE had to be a sniper to check out the new rifle and accuracy with it. Within the first round I noticed everyone jumping on the sniper bandwagon, and like many have said above that they got theirs on Kark 64, with 20 players, thats how i got mine, late night when not alot of people were playing. Everyone had to try the sniper, I got so many easy ones i got 18 within 15 minutes of the round. But other than that, that tactic seemed to work, high ticket low person. Helps later in the evenings to let people know you are going for the knife badge too, cause some of them wont be asshats and shoot you close range, they will sometimes pull their knife and knife too.

Had my friend that plays BF2 been on, I'd have had him stick with me as a medic to revive me. That's an excellent idea. Less down time waiting to respawn, as well. Plus you don't have to try and get back to a great hiding place if you've found one.HURLEY wrote:

As for low player counts... I prefer medium player counts. Somewhere around 30 people on a 64 map. Too few people means slower ticket drain but it also means you're going to have to look for kills as they aren't going to be as plentiful. On a 20-person server, my normal hunting grounds in the west alley were desolate. You'd have to get closer to Hotel area. Low counts also mean fewer snipers. Not too good since they're generally easy targets.

I got mine on a 16 player Karkand server after a lot of yelling at my monitor. Bunny hopping helps a lot. Don't go prone because you'll spend a year getting up, 'cause soldiers are so out of shape.

1- 16 player dragon valley server on a 64 player map (this allows you lots of time) I guess it could theoretically work on any map with a carrier (carrier is better because the boat spawn point spawns in only 1 spot, 2 if you're one of those technicality monsters), but i find that dragon valley is easiest

went on a server with loads of noobs on it (like most were 2 ranks or lower) and went after them all round - easy kills
Got mine on a random Sharqi server. Funny story actually. I was running around with the knife out and low and behold a medic appeared from around one of the walls and ran to a body to revive. I chased him but couldn't catch him, but I got the guy he had just revived. He didn't see me and ran to another guy and revived him. Again I didn't catch the medic but I got the guy he revived. I must have re-killed 6 of his revives before I got him. Very wierd series of events but the badge showed up.
Only advice I have is to use ONLY knife when going for the badge. Expect frustration, expect to get killed, but your chancing are alot better than waiting for 18 unassuming snipers in a round.

Time and patience leads to getting your knife badge you can get it with most kits, assault because you can flashbang, medic to heal yourself if you take a few bullets, sniper so you can see far distances where people can be prone or concentrating elsewhere, engineer drive in cars pull up beside a victim bail knife on the ready and stab at him if you get chased by armor then you lay a few mines down hehehe. Good luck try a close battle map sharqi or karkand or if you feel brave try a bigger map where you know theres snipers because your commander has pointed them out.
By the way i got my knife badge through assualt flashbanging a group of people capping a flag i managed to take 3 or 4 before the 5th finally got there screen back and took me out.
Goodluck on it not easy but with brains and tactics it can be.

I started knifing early in my account, haveing multiple rounds of 18+ kills before even having the global reqs if I ever go all out with the knife now I usually get like 20 odd kills.
64 player karkand is good due to all the gormless people with shit reactions, and also night maps on SF I have found to be good
