Hes a monster alright, and without a doubt he deserves to be punished, but I'm still of the belief that its only right to kill in self-defense or in the defense of others.

Lock him up, and throw away the key.

I'm sort of against the death penalty. I agree that its not much of a deterrant so before you kill them, in which i think seems to be too humane of a way in americas judicial system, is that you torture them first. I have it all worked out tho.. it goes for 100% certain guilt and confessions but after that its on. Zap thier eyes rip thier skin off and throw some gas on em hammer thier balls with some rusty nails w/e you can think of be creative. When you decided they had enough kill them.

You're right, I didn't think of it that way. The smell would be pretty bad too I guess.
Something exotic though, Lethal Injections or Hanging or a Firing Squad... they just don't say it like, say... feeding him to some kind of large animal, or pushing off a tall cliff. Fuck being humane, this turd dosn't deserve it.

no. you don't suffer being thrown off a cliff.

How about inject him with some of the most painfully deadly diseases in the world? Slow ones, of course.

George Carlin had it right. Play the execution live on tv. List the man's crimes, and show him being executed. You can get advertisers to pay for commercials to cover the cost of the execution.

The death penalty is carried out thus:

Each member of the family, and friends, get to spin the wheel of torture. Whatever it happens to, the man gets the treatment. Say someone gets "rip fingernails out", well, you rip his fingernails out. Then someone else spins it, etc.. etc..

After a few rounds, the inmate is offered a choice to kill himself, but by horrific means the first time. A pit of wild pigs, then electrocution, then hanging, etc...

I would hope to see 5 or 6 rounds of torture, then death by hanging.

Play that on TV, and you WILL see the crime level drop. The problem with the death penalty is that it is rarely used, and all nice and bullshit.

Or death match. I would watch that, kinda like unreal. guns enemy. Let them kill each other. we could create a new market in weapon design. There would be millions of dollars to be made. If murderers want to kill well there you go, go kill each other have fun. ANd we can sit back and laugh as you get gibbed all over the arena.

Maybe the Romans had it right?

Lets try and move this discussion away from inventive ways of torturing and killing this guy. Granted, he deserves it, but this is the debate and serious talk section, so lets move on to the debating and serious talking.

Though if I must admit there were some pretty imaginative responses.

If you wanted to see him tortured, put him in prison.  Even the worst of the worst in prison don't tolerate child molesters and murders.  He would be stalked, raped, likely tortured, and could very easily become a target to be killed.

I won't worry too much about his fate.

"Chimos" slang for Child Molesters in prison won't get too nice a stay on the government dime.

I have a friend who works in a SuperMax and he says that even those guys in safe areas or in death row don't make it long when they're child molesters.  Even criminals have some standards.

Too the tune of costing you and I $40,000 a year taking care of the low life for the rest of his life?  With cable TV, and a free college Education, and fitness rooms?  I would rather remove the burden from society.  Of course I think prisoners get way too many benifits too.  I don't know if Capital Punishment is truely the best solution, but I hate to think of my hard earned tax dollars feeding this guy 3 squares a day.

This is only true because of all the people trying to stop it.  Here in Ohio, we had idiot protestors trying to stop an execution of a confessed killer asking for the death penalty.  He wanted to die, and the anti-capitol punishment people were costing our legal system thousands of dollars trying to save his life.

It would cost more money to execute him that it would for the cost of incercerating him for the rest of his life.

Maybe so.  But I would much rather see my money spent solving the problem, rather than keeping it alive.  I do believe there should be some limitations to when the death penalty is applied.  And maybe you need to be convicted by 2 juries before it's applied.  But I think the whole process could be streamlined a lot.  Hell you can get a whole box of bullets for about $5.00.

There was a Law and Order episode that went something like this. A guy murdered a taxi driver in cold blood, then asked to be executed. The defense argued that because he was asking to die he could not be considered sane, and because you cannot execute someone who is insane... well, you see where this is going. It raises some interesting questions, though I am of the mind that if they don't mind dying, and it makes everyone else feel better, go for it.

Not that there's a magic bullet (excuse the pun!) but the problem is deeper than whether or not capital punishment is a good/bad thing. What has happenned to our society that so many people kill, rape, murder etc. Prison as a deterrent doesn't work. Capital punishment as a deterrent doesn't work. What changes in our society have happenned over the last 50 years for us to arrive in this situation?

I say run experiments on those pigs (c'mon, lab rats are innocent), run test on them etc,
Maybe one day we will find a cure for HIV/AIDS using real humans as test subjects cause I highly doubt rats have every organ, every bone we have.
