i guess if you were using two sticks instead of 4 like the guy who started this topic... you can get 1t timing.
He never said how many sticks he had. He just said that he now has 2GB's instead of 1.

Well, hopefully the AM2 boards will allow us greater leniency in multiple DDR2 dimms due to their relaxed latencies.
Yep, we must'a lost him.
I'm just going from experience.  I never buy "bleading edge" ram, but I did have a matched pair of 512s.  I had the same issue, for the first 30 seconds or so in a new game I was SUPER SLOW, but then it would catch up and play right.  I added a second pair of matching 512s (different from the original) and OMG it was a night and day difference.  Maps loaded MUCH faster, I found myself alone on newly loaded maps, there was no more starting lag either.  I have a pair of ddr500 1 gig sticks now (got a good deal on them), so I'm not running the mismatched 4 512's anymore.

When I started playing, I had 1 Gig and it kinda sucked. I later added 2 more 256 sticks and now it's much better. None of my RAM sticks match.  (and none of my match sticks RAM, LOL!!!)

meh...it works fine for me.

Amen to that.  All the guys that complain "you HAVE to run matched ram", don't realize they're getting a sliver of gain by running tighter timing.  I only swapped out the ddr400 (4 sticks) because I wanted to see what sort of gains I could get from ddr500.  I've been able to go as high as 275Mhz fsb on the ram before I had to slow it down... wish I had a middle setting because the CPU is running 290 and ram is somewhere around 245 because I couldn't get it to run stable at 280.
