Please, Please start replying to topics before locking them. Something simple and explaining the reason for it. Some of you do, and I appreciate it. The ones that don't are just asking for more useless posts like "why did you lock such and such a topic" or having another like it posted soon after.

Naw, I prefer a quick lock. However I've noticed more and more topics being locked with no explantion. If the user is inept at using the search, he/she will undoubtedly post asking why the topic was locked, or will repost it at some point in the future. It helps promote understanding and educates people, and takes little time especially if you know how to use the copy/paste function of your OS

typically I lock a thread before I make the explanatory post, as on occasion posting and then locking can lead to random posts after my own. I try and at least tell people why I closed their thread though, unless another user has already said what I would have said, like : "there are posts about this already, use the search, look here: <thread link>" etc.

And in the future, please post this sort of thing in the bf2s - help section, or PM it to one of us.

*edit* I have decided to leave this open for the time being, but I am moving it to bf2s - help.

dunno about the rest of the mods, but I ususally give a short explanation for closing a thread.

I usually comment as well... probably 98.9% of the time.

The only time I don't comment , is when we come across many threads being created when something big happens. Lately it's the CEA shit.... People just click "Post new thread" without paying attention, like they're the first to report something.

I haven't locked anything in a while though.
