I'm not the best driver in a tank, but it is fun to drive a vehicle round the map once in a while. My problem is this, often I get the red cross meaning someone has a lock-on, but I cannot for the life of me find where the bastard is. In this situation, I pretty much always panic and drive randomly and inevitably get killed embarassingly.
Does anyone have any tips on what to do if you don't know where that pesky lock is coming from?

press X for smoke and back up rapidly down the path you came down - more than likely you wandered into the Anti Tanker's path rather than the other way around. Stop. Watch for the missile smoke contrails as the AT soldier attempts to hit you as you roll out of his view. Respond with 120mm cannon. Continue on your merry way.

Thanks, I'll try it out later. I take it you rinse and repeat if you miss the first time.

If you're not going to be constructive Impaqt, don't bother posting. Don't assume people are noobs just because they ask for some advice.

You close the game down...

BTW: It's handy to keep moving alot when in a vehicle, not because you instantly survive everything - but there is a chance that AT-guy has to take one more step to be sure to hit you... *BANG*!!!
One dead AT coming up..

Other than that - be SquadLeader, request UAV as often as possible.. The tank is a handy instrument, and more often than not (unless you are somewhere you shouldn't be) you will get the UAV.. Which ofcourse gives you an advantage

Training is what it's all about.. Once you've been killed 100 times by AT the adrenaline-kick will go away, and you can concentrate even though you have the lock-buzzer going on..

Oh, yeah - one of the easiest and most effective ways to combat panic in-game.. Turn you effect volume down.. You don't need 100% to be able to hear shit - and at 60-70% that lock-tone doesn't sound as terrifying

Correlate the sound with your position. If you drive past a wall on the left side you know the AT is NOT on the left side. Drive around a corner and if the sound still exists you restrict the enemy location on 90 degrees.
Once i couldn't find an AT on Gulf Of Oman for gods sake. I drove around but there was no place to hide from the "beep". Well... the guy was on the crane.
