If your looking to change something, just goto edit > Find (or ctrl + F) and type in what you want to change, so, if you wanted to change your ''you killed' message, you would type 'you killed' into there and it should bring you right to it!
It would be best if the original post had links to a zip/rar of the originals and a modified version or twoLOSER|Tearsofromance wrote:

SCAR-H (H meaning 'Heavy') is the Assault kit's weapon for the US in Special Forces. It's more powerfull than the SCAR-L (L meaning 'Light')bingobones wrote:

What might help is if you search for this: "KILLMESSAGE". That should bring you to the first kill message on the list (Killmessages are the ones displayed in the upper left corner of your screen during gameplay "Player1 [killed] Player2")
Also!
I need the original English_mappacks.utxt files please!!! Anyone!!! [email protected] !!!

i had my backup in a folder in the 'normal' folder and the game did work but the adjustment did not[CANADA]_Zenmaster wrote:
Edit: PS any backups you make of your original files, NEED TO BE STORED ELSEWHERE. Your game will not launch if you keep the backups in the same folder - they need to be removed to a folder on your desktop for example.
.... so...
like you said you need to put the backup outside the 'normal' folder else it wont work.
thanks for tut, btw. now i can always see if someone makes a TK with what he did it. oh yeah, lol
ok, now I'm curious:
Is it possible to add #PLAYERNAME# in the HUD_TEXT_TEAMKILL_PUNISHED string like "You were punished for a teamkill by #PLAYERNAME#". Will it work?
So I can see WHO the hell punished me?
(I'm too tired to figure it out, maybe one of you guys could have a try)
+EDIT+
ok, it works!

Dunno if this was mentioned or not (too lazy to look), but the default path is this (different than what was in the original post):
Anyway...
Code:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Localization\English
Original English localization files, v1.22chuyskywalker wrote:
