It all depends on what settings you are using, if you turn up everything in your video card's control center, it will run at lower fps. Also, depends on your resolution as well. I run at 1280x768, 6x AA in game settings, and get anywhere from 60-190 fps, depending on what I'm doing or looking at. If I AA to x6, and AF to x16 in my CCC, I will get a steady 60 fps, with no real fluctuations, and it seems more stable.

Edit: I have a AMD 3500+ OC to 2.4, X-FI Fatality, x1900xtx, and a raptor drive.

That's because Nvidia only do 4x AA, ATI will do 6x.

Bring down console in the game, and type game.lockfps 200, your top end will now be 200 fps versus 100. I have a good system that's how also. But, like I said the 190 is not constant, it jumps like mad from 60 up to 190.

renderer.drawFPS 1

As long as the frame rate doesn't drop below 50 your doing fine, if you never hit 50 you should turn some of the settings up, resolution etc...

Buying a really expensive card to render at 100 fps doesn't make any sence. Consider if your using a 70Hz refresh rate that would mean that 30 frames per second are never shown on the monitor something to consider.

I have a 6800 Ultra, 1GB 2-2-2-5 RAM, and a 3500+ CPU. I keep dynamic lighting and shadows to low. Everything else is maxed, and my res is kept at 1280x960. My framerate never drops below 50, unless I'm recording with FRAPS, or just getting the kinks out of a map for the first few seconds of flying or post-load.

Depending on your Corsair RAM, it should either be 2-3-2-6 or 2-3-3-6 (if you bought the low-latency stuff). Likely, it's 2-3-3-6. That particular variety is known for not detecting right on many motherboards (sometimes timing up to 3-4-4-8 before correction). You'll have to fix it manually in the BIOS.
