I have a ATI X850 and i have it running at stock settings but when playing bf2 it still heats up really good.
today i was playing and a warnign message came up saying its in safe mode. is there a way i can speed up the fan on my graphics card to keep it running cooler all the time?

Short answer: No, not really.

Unless your card, for some strange reason, isn't running the fan at full speed during full 3D load there's nothing you can do to increase the speed of the fan over stock.

What you can do is replace the usually poor thermal grease that is on the fan with some good Artic Silver 5. Or add a fan to the side of your case, so it's blowing air directly at the card. Or better yet, replace the grease and fan altogether with something like a Zalman or other brand cooler:

yeh i use atitool but the stock fan is just too loud so i switched it to one from artic cooling. my new one is quieter at 100% than the stock at 5%
