I've landed the jet a few times.

But I remember this one time on Wake Island My Plane had taken heavy damage so I was forced to land to fully repair, The second I land some idiot on my team starts ramming my jet with a jeep and ends up team killing me, and he got out before the jeep exploded so he got the next Jet

I've landed a J-10 on the long set of railroad tracks west of the chinese base on Dapinq Oilfields (the one with hills on each side and a small bridge on it). And from my experience people have either been good at landing planes or horrible at it.

Ya, landings a piece of cake, as long as you know when to start slwoing down.  I do end up crashing sometimes because I'll get .5 seconds of lag at the wrong time and nose dive into the runway, and then the whole team will call me a noob

not hard. and i play with the keyboard. lol

landing isnt the hard part.  try flyin straight up in the air, then slow down to like 180kh and jump outta ur playn
float around it for a while then jump back in and pull ur self outta the stall.

ive done this a couple times now.  its fun.  lol

How hard can it be to land a jet? Got in on the third time

Quoted from my post in "the aviator guide"

"Learn how to land a jet! Something every pilot must be capable of - especially in the days of 1.21 when a missle can (still, although it's less likely :p) slam into your rear end at any time. Don't do what most players do, flying over an airfield 5 times, slowly, putting themselves at great risk. My advice: In the beginning, approach the airfield from far away, and make sure you're properly lined up. Start braking early, so that you're around 500-600 kp/h and about 1 1/2 height of one those jet hangers when you reach the start of the runway.  You must be LOSING speed at this point, instead of just starting to brake. Do not approach the runway from a high angle, but try to fly low and straight instead. The secret to not exploding on contact with the runway is simple - do not let your nose touch it. Therefore, aim your nose upwards, while your jet slows down and loses altitude. keep braking once you've landed, fix your jet, reverse so you have enough room to take off, and fly away again.

Note: The F-35Bs have different ways of landing. My personal favourite is to hit reverse to hover at a speed of around 800, fly low over the water, then pull up just before the carrier . Flying up will slow you down, so if you time this right you'll be hovering right over the main deck, fixed in a sec, and you can fly off again.

You don't have to land your jet at a runway. The best classes you can be in a jet are engineer and support. You can land your jet anywhere as long as you follow the rule of not touching the ground with anything other than the wheels. Handy if your team has lost your only airfield, for example, as you can either repair or resupply your jet."

Has anyone ever successfully landed a plane before?
yea it is piss easy, i do it whenever i need bad repairs, or am bored of the jet, it just takes ages for the engine to slow down enough, you gotta have about half a map of run up space for it to be succesful!

it takes like 20 meters max.

It's even easier with those VTOL planes (I don't remember the name). Just press S.

I've landed jets a couple times, granted I can't do it on every map, but eh.  It is, of course, MUCH easier to land the F-35, for the record.

yea if ur landing gear is down u can jump out and it stops right away
but ull probably get killed by the wing unless ur in a bomber and switch to second seat before jumping out

He loses an argument and then tries to change the topic. Silly fools...

Anyways, to land a plane drop your speed down to 400 and use your AB's to keep it up there. Keep in mind, it's easier to do this after you've lined up with the carrier/runway/road/whatever.

Then land and hold S/full back on joystick throttle.

I've had to do this in the middle of a game to get repairs. It can be useful, you just need to practice it.

I find it's easiest to land non-VTOL fighers. <3 F-18.

Why the hell are you going to fast that your landing gear isnt down over a runway? You'll just crash...

Remember: Landing gear is determined by speed! Get down to 400, 300 is where it stalls.

even at 400kmh ur wings kill u

Uh yes dass a useful bug!
E.g. if you are going to takeoff, accelerate and everything but then you notice that you forgot something or there is a mine or whatever, just jump out the plane. It will stop immediately

He knows not to kill teamates to get the plane. With a 0.86 kill / team kill ratio, what are you talking about other peoples stats for? I was upset for the 0.04 k / tk ratio I had.

Do you kill your neighbours pets for fun too?

Funny, I caught my buddy by surprise once by landing on the carrier with the Mig. He rolls by in his F-35 jet to re supply, and goes WTF did THAT come from?

Ok, now you (some of you) can land the plane in good weather, no sidewind, daylight :
try land it without using VSTOL on the carrier in fog, hard rain, and 20 knots sidewind on the carrier, while carrier is moving with 10 knots an hour. In a Harrier jet this time.

switch your hud from ARM to NAV, line up your flightpath with ILS, get your speed at 150 knots,  call-the-ball, and if the approach officer doest wave you off via radio, or you didnt catch the hook,  bolter and not plunge into the water !

If you can do that, you are a good pilot.

And remember, 1 crashed plane goes on your record, 3 crashed planes is no more carrier flying duty.

yeah on the carrier, line it up and just hold down "s", really very easy for even a n00b pilot like me. lol.
