Ok, i realised that the new sniper rifle doesnt give u 2 life bars when shot in the body. It just gives u more than half of your life gone.

- The new Sniper rifle's damage cant compare to the M95
Any good sniper isn't going to shoot you in the body. A head shot is a kill. I don't care what sniper rifle you're using.
I'll still take the L96A1 over the M95 in 995 of 1000 situtations, because the reticle is so much nicer.

Agreed. I use the M95 mostly on SF now.
L96a1<m95
M95 for me is reserved for maps with helos or planes.
BTW I do not whore any vehicles. I am a infantry man, more specifically a sniper as you can see from the sig. The only occasions I go into armor or plane is when no one seems to know what they are doing or is just sitting in the base and is ready to be taken by the enemy. I definitely do not use M95 for TKing poor guys who just want to have some fun with the vehicle
But people!! Share the precious assets that your army has with others. Stop the TK for vehicle.
.I was off topic for a bit. Anyway, L96 is a personal choice in infantry hunting since it has a better scope layout. Thinner the scope line, the more easier it gets for the sniper to line the headshot. Also the sound of L96 gets muffled out during the fire fight which gives a sniper more concealment compared to other sniper rifles. M95 is like a sound that is asking for someone to spot him so it is not easy for me to shoot several rounds in short amount of period knowing that someone would spot me and I'l have to relocate.
There might be some people accusing me of using L96 just because it is the newest gun out and also accuse me of not using M95 ever since the 1.2 patch came out. However, I was one of those unfortunite people who unlocked everything beside L96 and P90 as Master Sergent. So I had to stick with M95 when I was a MEC player or in helo/jet maps. I have extensive experience with the .50 cal.
So these are the advantages summarised for L96.
1. Accuracy comparable to M24.
2. Thin Crosshair and a great crosshair layout in my opinion
3. Distinct sound which is easiest to be muffled.
4. Shorter reload time than M24.

I dont know, I seem to miss alot more with the L96 then I do with the m95. I dont mean complete misses, I mean headshots that dont kill them =p
Havent noticed this...... I know for a fac that when I get hit withthe 96 I am reduced to rubble if its a headshot or 2 bars if not..... Practiced this before a round with a clan mate we traded off between M95 and L96 and incured the same personal damage on each shot.
Maybe a foot or arm shot does less? Maybe you were not hit with the 96.....

Anti-infantry= L96A1
Sniping airfields=M95

How about you do some research before you post something? All of the bolt action snipers do the exact same damage (95).Ayumiz wrote:

This is just you, the M95 is LESS accurate than the M24 or the L96. The 24 & 96 have the same accuracy, and the 95, SVD, and 88 all have the same accuracy, slightly less. I've had some times where I was right on their head and it missed, sometimes I'm off their head and it hits. This has happened with both guns, it's all about random chance.belikeron wrote:

The only benefit of the 95 over the 24 or 96 is ability to penetrate the bullet proof glass on helicopters and airplanes.
Then you have the other benfits of the 96 like the quite shot and the small crosshairs, thats why I use the 96, it's the most accurate and the quietest.
This is getting exciting. Only around 1000 points to go and I'll be able to use the AWP .
although i havent/cant unlocked the L96a1, ive picked it off of the coprses of snipers i gut while theyre peering off into the distance . even though it might not do as much damage as the barret thing, it feels soo much smother then all the other sniper rifles. i hit alot more infantry with the L96a1.
I find myself only using the M94. I have the L96A1, but dont use it much.. and if I do, its when I play MEC
dude, all of the bolt actions do the exact same amount of damage. The M95, according to ubar's wiki thing, only appears more powerful stat-wise because it can pierce armor. As far as accuracy, M95, IMO, is the least accurate in the game.
Its wway more quiet, its sturdy and has hardly any kcikback
ALSO!
Bulletdrop. there is a MASSIVE bullet drop on the M95 as opposed to the L96.

m95 is my fav sniper, just master aiming with it then it will be the best : ). L96 though has a sweet sound and scope. My fav sniper is type 88 : )

i still can hear the L96 and also the L96 has more bullet drop than the M95.
Abouth the dammage, all the bold action sniper rifles had the same dammage agains unarmored troops, but the M24 and L96 do around 60% dammage to armored trooper such as AT,support and assault, but the M95 does 95% to to all clases and has the ability to make dammage to vehicules, if you hit the back or side of a chopper you will take down 1 energy bar and 2 in you hit the windshield, but if you hit it with the L96 you barely will dammage it if you don't dammage it at all.
the M24 is the sniper rifle with less bullet drop of all, but it takes longer to switch magazine and rechamber the bullets than the other 2 sniper rifles
the L96 is faster than the M24 switching the magazines and rechambering the bullets, but is the bolt sniper rifle with the most bullet drop (so why it has such a thin scope is the bulles drop so much?)
M95 has more bullet drop than the M24 but less than the L96, its rechambering is the fastest one, but is the noisiest sniper rifle
Qft^
The L96A1 is very accurate, and the bullet drop is almost non-existent. Today, I just shot a guy on the roof of the T.V. Station from the Construction Site on Sharqi, and I only aimed about a millimeter above his head. The bullet will almost always hit the crosshair up to your view distance. Plus, it is much quieter than the other snipers (to the guy championing the suppresed L96A1, I retract my previous statments, you're probably right).
Talking about the difference in damage both rifles inflict, the Ballistics specification is very clear:
M95 Damage = 190 (vehicles) and 95 against Human Targets
L96A1 Damage = 95 against Human Targets, no Anti-vehicle damage
So, against Human Targets they're pretty much the same: when shooting at Torso, 2 hits-1 kill.
Semper Fi!

Bullet Drop
M95>M24>l96>Type88/SVD
THe Shell in the M95 is significantly heavier than the other Sniper Riles. THis is why the bullet drop is more. Its still not much. Since you really cant see more than 400 or so meters in this game (damn fog everywhere) we're talking pixels here.
Dont let my Time as a sniper could your judgement of my experience. I have extensively tested all these guns in SIngle player and on empty servers prior to a game starting.

you just gotta know how to use the reticle
dude i killed 7 ppl in a row with pure headshots when they were so far away they were silhouettes with the L96 orw/e makes me want to but SF now
It's all the same to me. If I miss the head and get a body shot, I'll just finish you off with the pistol.
Who cares? Next shot will kill em.
