What is the max known stable OC for the 3500+ venice core. I am running 220 FSB on mine and using a Cooler Master Hyper 6+ and its 10 degrees celcius below stock which is 30, i was just wondering whats the max stable clock i can bring this thing up to. I have heard people going up to as high as 2.6 - 2.8 but most people only do 2.4.

There is no "maximum" oc for a chip, each one varies. While it is possible to get your chip up to 2.8, that probably wont be the case for most people. What you have to do is increase the clock speed incrimentally and see how high you can get without cooking your cpu and still have a stable system. I assume you already know how to test stability and all that, so I wont go into it.

Let me rephrase it, what is the max "stable OC", sure you can go as high as you want but i want to know what the safety range is so i get a image of what im targetting for.

Thats exactly my point, there is no OC you should be aiming for. You just have to overclock a little at a time and make sure its stable, then pump it up a little more and keep going. Just make sure your temps dont get too high.

just oc 10 mhz fsb at a time, and get a program that maxs ur cpu and memory power, if it runs for an hour and no crash... ur safe

The 3500 has been shown to hit 2.6ghz easily on air cooling. Your memory will make a difference if you try to run it at 260mhz. So you might have to run your memory slower than the system bus speed.

You should easily break 2.4 with that chip. Took me about 5 minutes worth of quick testing and a couple hours of gaming to get my friends 3000+ up to 2.5. That's on the stock HS and fan as well.  With the higher multiplier I can see you getting 2.6 or even higher without any problems.

What motherboard and ram are you using?

ram speed dont really matter, its the divider, it adds 2X fsb increment when u increase ex 250 fsb will run ur ram at 500 mhz, just do 250mhz its fine
