I visited the Asian Aerospace 2006 on Tuesday and saw the Eryx for the first time.

http://shyuechou.blogspot.com/2006/02/a … rmour.html

If anyone is interested, the Eryx is the second image in the entry. The firing post and the tube weigh 17 kg in total.

Probably not considering it was in a museum.

Giant Squid500, actually, it was a trade exhibition. There were generals there talking to the manufacturers. Yes, that is an inert tube. The tubes for LAWs are usually issued as a round.

I will try to find images of the MG-mounting for helicopters, Hellfire missiles and a few other items soon. All BF-2 related.

I picked up a Mini-Hecate sniper rifle which is derived from the .5 cal Hecate mini-rifle. Wow. 8+ kilogrammes. I can say that one can definitely not bunny-hop or even 'dive' with this. In any case, even if one can hop around, it would be impossible to aim. Heh.

I spotted some ATVs and FAVs too. Fascinating stuff.

That dosn't lok very comfortable for lifting on one's shoulder - there seems to be no padding. Really annoying for us skinny white guys,.

lol....If I remember correctly, AT in BF2 carries the launch system + 5 missiles. If any real soldier had to carry that much weight, he wouldn't barely be able to move around quickly, let alone jump...

that's why real AT units are teams of soldiers rather than only one, I guess...

Woo! I missed the West Cargo Apron (WCA) and thus, I missed seeing the B-1B and A380 on static display! Damn! I missed them twice close-up.

I did see the A380 doing low level manoeuvres. It's simply breathtaking!

Some years ago, I saw the B-1B doing low-level manoeuvres too. That was staggering. Such a big aircraft at low-level.

Which booth were you manning? Who were you working for? Heheheh. Everyday! I am envious! Heheh.

Thanks man!

Hahaha. The sniper rifle was over 8 kilogrammes. It's cumbersome. It's probably only realistic to await in a prone, concealed position when taking aim. The scope is 4-16X magnification. 800m to 1000m headshots is possible according to the sniper instructor there. Of course, I tried to bunny hop when I picked it up! ooooh... ouch you mean! Heheh.

Oh yes, the Apache, F-15 and F-35, yeah, lots of people were TKing each other as they raced for the choppers and planes... Of course, the people who raced for the F-35 were most disappointed! That was a mockup! Hahahaha.

Like a lot of people in various countries, I did my national service in the infantry. I was in infantry about sixteen years ago and then I was in the reserves until about last year. I have played with assault rifles (M16A1, M203), the section automatic weapon (SAW or Ultimax 100) and was familiar with the FN MAG (GPMG). You can dive or roll. Hopping and aiming is an impossibility (though you can squeeze the trigger).

I will put up the door gun of the Super Puma transport chopper on the blog in a day or two. It's a huge massive belt-fed weapon. Single-barrel though.

And also images of the Hellfire ATGMs and Mavericks.

Hahahahahaha! Hey, there were quite a number of booth-babes!

I notice that you have a F-18 signature tag. Did you go? There were two F-18Es there. I am not sure if one of them was a F-18F.

Really nice aircraft. Too bad it wasn't flying.

Well, there's still tomorrow. He can still go.

The trade passes from Tuesday to Friday was 50 bucks. The tickets tomorrow and Sunday are only 21 bucks.

He shouldn't miss it man. They have TWO F-18Es in the static aircraft display area.

Well, if he misses them, I have these images from the Asian Aerospace 2006.

It's a Russian gun.

Both Chinese and MEC use Russian guns, cos theyre generally cheaper and easier to obtain.
