New system ordered, need your advice

Hey guys, i was around 11 month not on the battlefield.

I was working in Chile, but now i am back home. (Germany)

So i start my system ( 6 years old ) , but nothing happened.
When i open it, something smells really bad inside.

So after one beer i decide to check for a new system and order it.

So the system will come in pieces and i have to build it by my self.
What will increase the fun and help me over the one month cold vacation in Germany.

What i like to get from you guys is some advices, like
„I had the some part and be care full with xxx. Best do it on this way“ or
„Take care that you install / do xxx before you install / do xxx“.

I will build after 6 years a new system and i think some things are changed.

Standard BF2s PC building advice: Put thermal paste on the flat, silver side of the CPU.

Spend extra time doing good cable management (Feeding them round through the back of the case (Behind the motherboard)).

Make sure your RAM fits with your CPU fan.

Finray's right. If he's already in the 2x GTX 670 department and feeling good about it, he's not going to save much by dropping ram to 8GB. Have any of you guys seen the prices lately? 8x8GB is cheaper than I thought it could ever be in 2012.
