Better than the first version of the ad. A shame they kept the cheesy ice-cream joke but I'll forgive them because they added footage of the Hornet actually fighting. The destruction of the 300i, (though sad, I love that ship,) was awesome.

I have a Hornet so I'm debating which type to get. Kind of wish the Super Hornet didn't come with a second seat as I like the idea of a single-seater but it has a wicked profile. It's either that or the Ghost. Or both! SHUTUPTYSTOPSPENDINGMONEY!

Decided to play with my load-outs a bit. Put some of the big guns that come with my Super Hornet on my 300i.

Not a bad look.

The wing guns are the same as the ones on the side of the Freelancer and come stock as the wing guns on the Super Hornet. Weird thing is that the default placement is to have the Gatling guns on the ball turret and the cannons on the wings - it looks silly. I much prefer the cannons on the ball turret and the Gatlings on the wings.

This is a mean looking ship.

I imagine the turret will have to be controlled by the co-pilot. I can't see how a pilot can fly, fight, and aim a turret effectively. I guess if you don't have a co-pilot the guns just face forward which isn't a terrible thing. I'm not sure how it will work with the F7A military Hornet that you'll fly in Squadron 42, (the ones you can buy for the Star Citizen persistent universe are all F7Cs,) which are pretty much a Super Hornet on a regular Hornet's chassis. It only has one seat but it has a ball turrett too so I'm not quite sure how that would work and why they wouldn't just have a stationary weapon mount.

The second seat in the Super Hornet is a kind of do-all. It can monitor engine systems, manage shields and damage control, work radar, control weapons, or you can use it to store your bags or carry a passenger.

And is it playable without a joystick. I'm not adverse to combining controller + keyboard but I cbf using a joystick. I used to have one when I was little and getting it to interface and calibrated properly used to make me so mad.

It's aiming to be an intentional 'PC Master Race' type of game that hopes to make the most of the best technology.

That being said I've been able to run the hangar module, (which is in pre-pre-Alpha stage and unoptimised,) fairly well on my PC which is five years old now. Though as I understand it hasn't been fully detailed either. Still not bad when all I'm running is:

- Intel 3.2Ghz dual core CPU
- 4GM RAM
- GTX 650 GPU, (costs about $200 NZ.)

The only thing I've upgraded in the last five years is the GPU, and even then only so I could have a DX11 capable card - the 650 isn't that much better than my old GeForce 9800GTX+, (9800GTX+ was near top of the line a few years ago, 650 is only touted as an entry-level gaming card now,) and I only wanted to spend a little money to extend my current machine's life by a year or so before I do a major upgrade.

So while it's going to take a pretty hefty gaming machine to make the most of Star Citizen it's not like its completely out of the range of the less hardware-focussed gamer either.
