Why do you need a big engine? Especially for 'highway'? My car does 3k RPM at 70MPH and it's quiet enough

Why do you even need 220bhp? 3.5l is just MASSIVE overkill. I've got a 1.4L 90BHP Corsa that does 120mph and I've had quite a few very near-death experiences with it. I think even 1.4L too powerful for a first car. Anything over 1.2L and you're just asking to kill yourself.
My first car had a 5.7L V8 engine in it. I didn't die. I didn't even get in any accidents. Amazing isn't it? My first motorcycle had 1000cc too and I didn't die. Omg.
wow look at Jay, being the exception to the rule, amazing

5.7L as your first car .. what the fuck
Fin, you just have to realize that cars are simply larger over here. The reasons are numerous, and many of them amount to retardation, but it's the design that prevails. They're cheaper to buy due to their availability, and Shifty may as well buy whatever large ass car he feels fit.

Statistics. Statistics dictate that if you have a car with a large engine in it you will crash it.
That's absurd.

Yeah the price of fuel in UK is bullshit (£6.75/$10.80) for a gallon I'll give you that, but that's no excuse. You're still saving money with a smaller, more economical engine

So? People can buy hybrids or econobox shitcars if they want. Or they can buy a gas guzzling behemoth and spend their paycheck on gas. Who cares? It's their choice.

Thing is my county has a huge Hispanic population that doesn't speak English so I'm not surprised the wording isn't perfect but I am suspicious. So I'm keeping my options open, I'm looking into Corollas and Civics, Colorados, Silverados, and Rangers. I'd prefer a smaller car that's good on MPG but since I won't drive it too much I can always be a bit more flexible with the MPG it'll give me.

This is just one of many options. I'm going to contact them and ask for a time I can just come over and check it out. If anything seems fishy I'm out. I won't purchase it on the spot though. I'd still want to check out other vehicles too, that would just be one vehicle on my list of potential purchases.

What do you guys think? that's pretty cheap for a pickup that's only 8 years old.

Younger drivers are going to get in accidents regardless of the size of the engine. You're telling me that a person driving a 2L turbo charged vs a 5L V8 is inherently less likely to get in an accident? Bullshit. If the kid is stupid and wants to race, he'll be prone to more accidents. A V6 pickup truck is not a racing vehicle. Why even try to make that logic fit the discussion?

don't purchase anything on the spot.  Come to an agreement with the seller on a neutral party mechanic that will do a simple checkup and see if there are any issues found.  I've never heard of anyone being able to just look at a car/engine and decide that it's good to go.

5L V8 versus a 2L turbo? Probably not a lot of difference. 2L turbo is still a massive, overpowered engine for a first car.

5L V8 versus a 1.1L Fiesta? Yes.
