I'm sure there's a gallery of humanized resolution caricatures* somewhere on the internet.

Was she 60Hz or 144Hz?

The best gift I got this year is a French Press.

Cold Brew iced coffee is just so good. I now use my coffee pot to brew hot black or green tea and then fridge it also.

A fridge full of cold black tea and coffee is healthier than soda and juice but only marginally though. I do mix this stuff with generous amounts of milk.

I went to a rave in Brooklyn last night. First rave. It's a shame that it took me until 29 to experience something so fun. The people I went with were rolling while I was hitting a marijuana vape pen.

Hardstyle music isn't something I would listen to while I get ready for work in the morning but it was fun dancing to it at the rave.

Seeing hundreds of people dancing together and having fun makes me wonder why moshpits ever became a thing in the 80's.

Like who wants to run into strangers at full speed when you could be dancing with a rave a girl instead

there are lots of great genres in clubs, and clubs can be great environments if the crowd/vibe is right. i agree. but hardstyle is horrendous. it’s so abrasive, there’s no vibe, the only girls interested in listening to it are abuse victims or meth addicts. it has a weird neo-nazi thing going on in some places. yeah, not for me.

it’s weird you mention disco and dance music in the ‘rock’ years of the 80s. if anything genres like hardcore and hardstyle take the aggression/violence of that music. disco was all about soul! swing! good emotions! hardstyle is ugh.

but a lot of people dip their toes into clubs without really having any wits about the differences. s’ok.

The crowd of people that took me to the rave were hard drug enthusiast with rehab bills to prove it. So I understand your comment regarding meth addled girls making up the rave scene. I briefly wondered how many of the young people in the crowd were marked for an opioid overdose. A blonde rave girl stranger approached me to dance shortly after which removed any negative thoughts for the rest of the night though which was great since

yeah, it's a very specific demographic. the music is very hard and the people who are into it tend to be, erm, 'outsiders'.

its main fanbase and connotation in europe is the dutch, specifically a sort of dutch underclass that wear tracksuit bottoms, flirt with nazi iconography, and all shave their heads. i appreciate that in its translation to new york it has probably acquired a hipster-cool thing, which seems to be the norm for music that has an 'authentic' background like that one.

and yes, it's true. it's such a cliche but any rave full of people on MDMA is an infinitely more positive place than a bar full of drinkers. alcohol can be negative, aggressive, and rowdy -- with friends it's fine, it's sharing space with strangers and other groups that's the problem. everyone in a rave is basically in love with one another just for being there.

lol i remember going to a hardcore (edm, not punk) party where the partygoers in front of the stage were picking up those metal barriers and slamming them back down on the ground to match the beat. All a bunch of methed out skinheads.

this is my vibe for raves nowadays. a more middle-aged/mixed generations affair. outdoors, preferable. something with uplift and inspiring spaces.

and of course the music has to be very, very good.. no attention can be spared on the sound system and set-up. minimal lights and fuss. no lasers. please just good sound and a good crowd.

I pulled over a black guy today and got him to apologize and thank me for not arresting him.

So I am alone driving around and see a car with a tail light out. I pulled it over and ran the plates. The plates belonged to a black guy who had a bunch of priors for drugs. After he gave me his info and I checked it I went back and asked him if he had any drugs in the car. He said no and I asked if I could look around. He said yes and I said "that's okay, I believe you". Then I said "what are you doing around here?" And he said "going to work."

So I went back to may car and text a teacher I met on tinder for awhile while the guy waited nervously. After about 10 minutes I went and gave him back his stuff and told him "I am going to give you a warning to get your tail light fixed. You are lucky it was me who pulled you over because you got a dirty record. If it was anyone else you would be sitting on the curb with a police dog in your car. Do you understand? I said do you understand?". He said he understood and thanked me for not arresting him.

That was the highlight of my week.

there is no way macbeth has gone from being a school teacher to a cop, out around on solo patrols, in about 2 weeks.

So after about six weeks I can fairly safely say I quit vaping.

After 6 months I started vaping. Only marijuana though. It's my preferred method.
