it's more just like our friend groups are so complexly intertwined that i wouldn't want to create gossip/drama over something that is a weekend curiosity for me. not worth the headache. i like the sense of adventure and complete departure that this brings. stepping into something completely different without the usual furniture and associations. hope that makes sense.

It sounds like a stupid social arrangement. Take it to the first world problems thread.

you've never dated or made friends with someone specifically to take a holiday from the usual routine? pffft. under-rated.

i made a friend from work that was into golf. we watched the third round from the Masters. we've been married twenty three years since.
God i love watching golf on tv, it's better than Jagermeister and scripts, and just slightly less effective than heroine.

I wouldn't want my friends to know I was dating an Asian either.

A multiple weekend curiosity that is.
It sounds you've switched the usual routine with some exciting new... routine.
You might haul your furniture over as well.

Granted, I wouldn't tell my real life friends either, because no one could get close to the understanding, ever helpful people that are BF2s.

My new manager told me today that I'm one of his top agents in the team (and we're the elite team a company that pulls in over $100 million in wine sales each year) and said he will give me extra perks etc. as time goes on. This is during one of the best weeks I've had to date.

Still don't want to buy Yellow Tail from you

We don't sell Yellowtail, it's rubbish.

Annoys me (and this also comes from a US customer of mine who moved back and then emailed me a year later about the exact same thing) that the reputation of Australian wine overseas is either the cheapest shit imaginable, or the most expensive we have (ie. Penfold's Grange). You can find mid-tier wines that are good but it's few and far between.

I left my car unlocked and the keys in the ignition in a fairly sketch part of London and it didn't even get stolen

I leave it unlocked a lot because there's nothing inside usually and I don't think anyone would think I'd leave it unlocked but to leave the keys in the ignition was probably the height of my stupidity this month

Unexpectedly good, I was talked into doing No-Shave November this year and worked to grow a Keanu Reeves-esque disgusting beard. When it started to fill in, I was struck by the number of ladies who, if I knew them, would remark saying they liked it and it made me look more mature, or strangers who would start talking to me (compared to approximately 0 times that's happened in previous months). Evidently, beards = easy mode.

I don't understand how growing a beard is supposed to raise cancer awareness, since it's like the complete opposite of what happens to you during chemotherapy. Also don't understand how you're supposed to grow anything more than a disgusting mask in under a month.

Beards are a pain, not "easy mode." Growing one goes from "eww" to "hey, you're growing a beard, looks nice" reactions from people as it fills in. And once it's there, you have to immaculately maintain the thing, because too much length or a hair out of place will take it from a positive social interaction thing to people crossing the street to avoid it. Lost the thing awhile back and noticed a steep rise in how friendly people became. Shaving's also annoying and time-consuming, but far easier than watching your neckline and fussing over your face with a tiny pair of scissors.

Whenever my hair gets long, I think about trying out a goatee. Always back out.

Is it supposed to be for cancer awareness? I thought the mustache Movember thing was but I didn't think the whole no-shave thing was. Regardless, I raised exactly $0 for any charities/research causes. :-D  I suppose it's just that I have a rather young looking face without it, but we'll see how this turns out.
