A week ago, the temps were in the 10-12 Centigrade area, migrant birds were coming back from the south, flying in formation overhead, the only wind was a warm breeze from the west and the ice on the frozen river that runs through downtown Turku broke up and melted into the Baltic Sea. Almost all the snow from the winter had molten from the parks and streets. Nature was waking up as the vanishing snow revealed several month old dogshits from permafrost; as always, the foul smell was a first sign of spring.
Now we've got snow again, it was -7C this morning, my balls are freezing and I've had to leave my car home since Sunday because as an optimist, I already changed my tyres to the summer-kind two weeks ago.
Bullshit.
