Don't take it out of context.
Don't forget the verse that says to go out and preach the Gospel to all the people.
If you make fun of somebody for their faith you're an ass. Nobody has any respect these days.
The Bible also says to honor God in all things. Tebow is doing this by praying before games, giving thanks for a score, etc.
But Tebow is not "preaching the gospel". He is a devout Christian who takes sports so seriously to the point thatt he thinks God really cares whether he wins or loses.
When you pray, Shifty, do you believe that God has any influence on sports games?
He is a football player. He draws attention because he believes praying to God (PUBLICLY IN FRONT OF CAMERAS ON NATIONAL TELEVISION) will help him WIN GAMES. What about the Christians on the opposite team who pray to God and believe in Jesus? If they lose, does that mean he is more "Christian" than they are? What if the other team wins? Does that mean he has failed God?
Bottomline : Tebow is a showoff when it comes to his religious beliefs, and he thinks God will help him throw touchdowns. That is why he is easy to make fun off.
/end thread
P.S. were he just an average football player, his faith would not be taken nearly as seriously by the media
