Not a big fan. Plus sometimes they get in n out and by the time the food arrives the burgers and fries are cold. Like I said, #fwp

Nope, not the norm.

But it has been customary at my work place to have a sign-up sheet to bring some matter of breakfast food for most days in December. And then there are the meetings with vendors, project groups, and the like, where lunch is usually provided.

Not related, but... the prep school my son will be attending next year has about 5 or so "gourmet" food trucks that show up once a week for lunch.

I can't decide whether to throw my weight around and demand a courtesy car for free (they usually charge about $30 I think) or just get it done in my week off after Christmas and do the 20 min walk there and back.

i'm also going to be working 25 hours a week for apple again to help manage xmas administration stuff

you have security, a career, a home or at least a mortgage... we have a landlord-shark rental market, a graduate jobs market undergoing a third-world famine, and just about more debts from standard-fare education and living-costs than any other generation since possibly the 1970's...

i'd say a 30-something year old guy in mid-career, mid-age, mid-life could talk pleasantly about the "standard of living being higher"

Still you have all your gadgets and a comfy lifestyle, you're not doing manual work to put yourself through college, many people are going to college when in reality they should just go straight to work.

we however are dealing with huge loans and a lack of opportunity, knowing that our own PARENTS had a much better deal
