Can't find any good documentaries on the New Deal to park some kids in front of tomorrow. 2 million videos on World War 2 but not a single good one on the New Deal.

Its somewhat like the rest of the internets lack of liability for what users post. If pornhub is liable then so is everyone else.

One of the games waiting its turn in my Steam updater has an auto update scheduled for Jan 4 2021. I'm sorry, but what. Just do it now.

Ordering groceries for delivery feels more stressful than going on a casual date. Always hanging on my phone ready to confirm substitutes or answer delivery questions. Many notifications. Can I put on my headphones yet? How far away are they?

e: Still shopping. My eggnog got refunded with no substitute request. Are they really out of everything? Well I'll cut them some slack given the day.
e2: My shopper has been shopping for 40 minutes for items that are relatively close by to each other. Wild bird suet has been "replaced." Whatever that means seems ambiguous! To be fair, maybe they're filling multiple orders at once.

e3 on previous post: I looked away for half a second and it turned into 5 minutes later where I missed the text about the pumpkin pie being out of stock with a replacement request from items in a photo. I told her cherry would be fine, but they needn't bother if they were no longer in that area of the store.

e4: On the way, 15 minutes out! We'll see what all is there, though holiday conditions.

I guess it's kind of pointless worrying about syllables in an english haiku. aren't japanese ones counted differently?

So anyway the groceries arrived awhile back. A little older lady stepped out to open her trunk. I was halfway down the driveway when I realized I forgot my mask. Ran back into the house for my keys to get a mask out of the car, came back out. She had like 7 heavy bags of groceries in one hand and casually outstretched it for me to take. A real 5'2" Terminator. If anyone messed with her I am quite certain she'd be able to pull their arms out of their sockets. Duly impressed.

I was like "wow, (such and such store) should give you guys a fold out car to make this easier!" She was like "they don't give us nothin!" Then we wished each other well, xmas etc., and she went on her way. Same attitude as my grandma in years past, and just as much steel. I didn't regret doubling the tip (praise me, macbeth!) when I placed my order, but I think if I do this more regularly I'm going to buy one of those garden carts to make it easier.

I didn't get my egg nog, and the pumpkin and sweet potato pies had to be replaced with marionberry and peach respectively (which I also like), but in all a good haul. Even the carton of eggs were carefully stowed and pointed out to me so I didn't crush them.

Suppose it's a heartwarming Christmas story of people no longer able to live on tips from the restaurant industry, so they go to live on tips in the delivery industry.

e: I upgraded my tip once more after the fact. It lets you do that once within 24 hours of your order, I guess. If I keep this up I will be farming karma macbeth style.

sorry to hear that macb. this last year has probably been the final nail in the coffin for a lot of people’s relationships, what with stress, uncertainty, financial pressure, and endless close proximity. though that’s probably small succour to you.

it sounds like you kids are all growed up. you’re too old for divorce to do the emotional trauma and counselling thing.

sorry that last post sounded a little curt. i mean it in a good way. you are adult enough to adopt a position of relative non-involvement and it doesn’t necessarily have to spell disaster. you’re mature enough to avoid all the deep emotional scarring that sometimes catches kids caught in the middle of warring parents.

if it’s fractious and nasty you should consider renting your own space somewhere. it’s worth it.
