i think that is going be a major problem as time/technology goes on. obsolescence is going to be a big deal when you start dealing with things that need 5–10 years of reliable archival sources. people laugh and say that where letters and physical records used to do everything, now we'll have gmail chat records and SATA2 drives. but the gmail service won't last as long as a piece of paper stored correctly, and SATA2 is going the way of the floppy drive.

that's one of those dumb pseudo-scientific theses that you'd get in a really bad self-help book. no wonder it appears on linkedin, traducing the scientific method and pretense of 'objectivity' to make some dumb conference-seminar bullshit point.

humans have probably never been subjectively happy and fulfilled. this point is so obviously a truism as to seem pathetic. when people start spouting truisms you have to ask what their underlying or ulterior point is. the above sounds like a conservative 'realist' stance to 'feelingz' that will be used to ignore all sorts of preventable suffering. "what's that, third world? you want decent jobs now you have safe drinking water? look, here's a graph that shows we haven't had food and safety for 180,000 years! happiness is a myth don't you know!!!"

in any case, nobody, not even the most deluded and pampered trust-fund baby living in a brooklyn brownstone, believes that "if i don't achieve happiness i will die". please unlink yourself from this mong on linkedin.

Thanks, Ken. I am just going to have to settle on keeping black school children down instead of black adults. Today is actually my first day of teachers school. I don't want to do a graduate degree right now. It would feel like a waste to go for anything other than some professional graduate degree and I don't have the heart to sit through 2+ years of that.
