It's ok if they keep it I like the abilety to jump straight into a game with friends , but I don't see the harm in putting an inggame-browser aswell...jord wrote:

like the ability to manage friends and create parties, like the game manager (seeing your past games, if you want). Don't like that it's another program running in the background, don't like some connection issues (like running/closing bf3 every time you join/disconnect from server).
it's already a console port, the consoles got a browser...TimmmmaaaaH wrote:
Because putting one in the game would be twice the work for no gain? It takes a negligible amount of time more to change server using battlelog than a typical ingame browser and that is the only downside for something that is overall much better.
wait 20 minutes to join friend's server
NO FUCKING QUEUE MUST MANUALLY REFRESH
finally slot opens
FIRST TIME LAUNCHING GAME BF3.EXE STOPPED RESPONDING
second time JUST GIVES ME 3 DOTS AND DOES NOT LAUNCH EXE
third time THE SAME
fourth time THE SAME
fifth time FINALLY LAUNCHES GAME BUT LAUNCHES THE FUCKING SINGLE-PLAYER
sixth time LOADING LEVEL YESSSS
freezes when loading is done BF3.EXE STOPPED RESPONDING
seventh time COULD NOT JOIN SERVER IS FULL
back to 20 minute wait BECAUSE THERE IS NO QUEUE
yeah this shit is SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER than having an in-game browser, i mean, seriously... REVOLUTIONARY

Use Coderah it has an autojoin button. Install greasemonkey for firefox then install it.Uzique wrote:

Hmm something is really screwed up atm. I also just had like 6 out of 7 load attempts crash.
i average probably 2-3 each time i try to join. It gets annoying. I just shut down battlelog and restart BF3 from origin. Seems to more or less work.
the thing is, i've never had to use greasemonkey before to add anything to my browsing experience. now all of a sudden i've got to load some bullshit scripts just to JOIN A GAME. such a basic, basic request. this is like the 'android' approach to gaming: it's way more complicated and you have to put in way more effort on your behalf just to make BASIC SHIT WORK. i prefer the apple approach, with a server browser that just fucking works.Roc18 wrote:

i downloaded firefox specifically because there were issues with the IE version of battlelog. I don't know if that's a Msoft problem or a DICE/EA problem, but either way its ridiculous.
The only glaring addition i see in battlelog is the ease to add friends to your party/game and to see your friends' history. Even that gets a little cluttered though. I don't need to be notified every time Afxz unlocks a new grip for his rifle or some new camo.

i think it's totally redundant. i never use platoons, never really use the 'social' features of it, and don't care either what my friends are unlocking. all the rest could be neatly put in a fucking in-game server browser.

this thread makes me lol hard. EA = electronic assholes
It's like battlenet > steam > battlelog&origin
The logic and reasoning behind rolling out origin and battlelog in its current state still escapes me. Are the people at DICE/EA really that out of touch?

I actually dont mind it. It can be easily managed and patched since its web based rather than hard code.. It works pretty well for me. I have had the same issues as you guys but I have faith that it will be fixed.
But knowing DICE, the in game browser would be fucked as well. BC2 in game browser was fucking atrocious for me, i've had no problems with battlelog and even if it does fuck up it's easier for DICE to fix.Uzique wrote:

Also, when it does fuck up at least I haven't had to sit through the EA/DICE logos, 2 sign ins and the game loading. My BC2 experience was 50-60% of the time I started the game, it wouldn't connect to any servers or lost connection to EA or some bollocks.
Thats the thing though, its a big assumption that an in-game browser would have things like auto-join. Having it in a browser means at least it can be fixed sooner rather than later. I agree players having to fix things is shit but it is how IT/games is.Uzique wrote:

steam has had auto-join/queue on their games since like 1.3/1.6 days. it really can't be that fucking hard.

Yes I agree but that doesnt change the fact the BC2's browser did not have that until a few patches in. Chrome extensions on battlelog meant it was implemented during the beta not 2 months down the track. DICE is not Valve. Steam is really the only decent server browser around from what I can think up in the last 5 seconds.
