Hai Guys,

I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade my rig for BF3, because I really don't want to have to get it on PS3.
Here's a SS of my CPU-Z readout

More info available on request. I'll just point out that I have 2 different pairs of RAM, so slots 1 & 2 match, as do 3 & 4, which is why i've included readouts of both sticks.

I think I'd like to just upgrade my graphics card, as I'm poor as a Pauper right now (see sig), so I'd prefer to keep total cost under £100 GBP.

I also don't mind refurbished/reconditioned

No way you'll be able to afford a decent enough rig with such a small budget.

So there's no affordable CPU upgrade either?

Otherwise, is it possible to upgrade my rig to a decent enough spec for under £300?
I have a decent case and PSU, so that isn't an issue - these are probably worth more than the rest of my rig in it's entirety.

Socket 939 is an old CPU socket. To get a decent CPU you'd also need a new motherboard. 8800GTS is probably good enough to play on low, but that's about it. If you really want to play this on PC, you're looking at £400-500.

gah. I could find that, but i'd rather not spend it. I guess I'll have to convince my father to upgrade his rig and scavenge his old components. Cheeky bugger is minted (unlike me) and always has a top-end rig, which he uses for word-processing and freecell/minesweeper.
