Hamburg, eh? Some Reeperbahn/Herbertstrasse-action, eh?
Pass through Puy de Dome/Clermont Ferrand, then drive to Lyon over night, maybe? Next day to Paris.ebug9 wrote:

Oh but you have to walk through Grosse Freiheit at least and have a little peek inside a club.ebug9 wrote:

Hamburg reporting in
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Anything worth checking out on the way from Hamburg to Prague?

Berlin - Munich would be a possibility, too, but it's too far west out of your way.ebug9 wrote:

I never fancied Berlin, but every one I know is thrilled by it. vOvCapnNismo wrote:

If you should find the time, Hamburg is always worth a visit. I was born & raised there and its really beautiful. Strongly depends on the weather though, but If the sun is shining, take a stroll along the Alster, it´s an incredible sight. Also, Donnie is right, the Reeperbahn is worth a peek. Start at Landungsbrücken, make your way along the Reeperbahn (including Herbertstraße and the resident bitches ) and onwards to the Fischmarkt to get a Fischbrötchen. World famous. Don´t forget to snatch yourself a Currywurst, too. Only Berlin has sausages as good.
It's too bad the Russians fucked over Konigsberg so much. That place would've been a tourist mecca in modern times...

If you want go to a really nice beach then you have to go to Sardegna and enjoy the Costa Azzurra, a bit expensive but a really really really nice beach. Venice is a nice place to visit and all but its super expensive and its FULL of tourists during summer so i'm warning you in advance.Varegg wrote:
Italy: All over, the Ligurian coast (from Genova to Monaco with Pietra Ligure roughly on the middle) is my favorite, the Amalfi coast (south of Rome) is also very good, Venice is expensive but worth it imo ... there is a town named Bibione about 40 minutes north of Venice that has some of the best beaches in Italy compared to the price, some really good ones and prolly less German tourists south of Venice (Rimini perhaps)
Rimini is alright but there isn't really a lot to see there. Its a small city with a nice beach and a lot of clubs, but its full of rich/douchy Italians.
Don't bother visiting major places in the north like Milan, nothing to see there. Only posh Italian people and shops.
Firenze is a must, a small city but you will love it.
Lucca which is like 1 hour drive from Firenze is a small fort city that is really nice to visit, but not cheap. You will enjoy it tho, good food, good wine. If you go there is a nice restaurant that I can't remember the name but get "Filetto di Manzo con aceto balsamico e pepe", if i remember correctly.
Rome, well, where to start. As you already know its got tons of historical sites and museums. You will visit the major places like Colosseo, Vaticano, Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi etc..
If you are in the mood to relax at a small and quiet park, then visit Parco degli Aranci. Its situated next to "Via (street) Aventino" right next to the FAO building (you will see it from miles away, its the shitty facist massive white building), which is also near Circo Massimo and Terme di Caracalla. The park is bassically run by nuns and priests and has orange trees (DONT EAT THEM, they taste like shit) but you will have a really nice view of Rome from there. Also, avoid to eat in touristy areas, they are super expensive and the food are shit (Avoid restaurants that have people outside telling you to come eat at them). A couple of good restaurants are "Montecarlo" on Viale di Vittorio Emanuale [great pizzas], "Capriocciosa" on Viale del Corso, "Quercia" on Piazza Della Quercia [great pastas], "Ai Marmi (L'obitorio)" on Viale Trastevere [this one is not expensive but you will have to queue, and don't let the look of the restaurant fool you, its got the best supplì and pizzas in rome] and many others but I can't remember them all right now. They are not cheap but you will eat some good stuff.
If you want to go out, well Campo di Fiori is a nice place to sit down and have some drinks, its basically a square that has like 20 bars in it, Sloppy Sams is the one I go to almost every weekend. Trastevere is also one of the major night life area in the city, its got bars on tiny streets and its mainly populated by foreign university students. San Lorenzo is another major night life area but its mostly populated by italian university students, don't go there unless you know someone from the city that is taking you with him and even then I advise you against it. I mean most of hte people there are chill but you never know. Also try not to go around alone late at night, esp on small streets around Campo di Fiori, its not safe. Also its forbidden to bring drinks outside of bars and shops and clubs after 23:00, if the police see you they will give you a ticket. You can drink on the tables outside the bars set BY the bar. Oh, and campo di Fiori during day is a market, go there during lunch, and go to the Forno right next to the restaurant "Carbonara", it makes one of the best Pizzas in the city.
But for me, if you want to really enjoy rome, go to a nice bar during the day in Campo di fiori or Piazza di Spagna or Piazza Navona or anyother place, sit down and have a nice cup of coffee or cappuccino. Relax. Stay there for 1 or 2 hours. Or wake up early and go to a bar and have a freshly baked Cornetto (croissant) with cappuccino or coffee, it gives you an insane amount of pleasure.
PS. Italian restaurants include tips in their bills so a tip of 2-3 euroes is enough. And watch out for restaurants trying to scam you, if you see your bill is WAY too much than you ate then report it to the embassy or police. A restaurant in Piazza Navona got closed because they billed 1000€ to a group of Japanese tourists and they went to their embassy to report it. Needless to say the police were quick to react.

Italy seems like a scuzzy place. I don't understand why anyone would want to go there.
Thinking of taking a trip to the UK and/or the German speaking portions of the EU.
In a year or so, to give me time to get my German language proficiency up to par.

If the women don't find ya handsome. They should at least find ya handy.
Why Manchester?
It looks like your route from Rome to Genova actually goes through Florence, where you definitely should take a look around. Beautiful city, lots of great art, the Duomo is mahoosive, etc. I stayed at a great hostel there, if you're interested. Only has four rooms, run by a very sweet lady, and just 2 minutes from the Duomo, with great cheap restaurants (with house-brewed beer) next door.
For Prague, take a look at the Czech Inn (clever, ehh?) - cheap, extremely clean, next to a tram stop that takes you straight to the center like once every 4 minutes, and breakfast included.
In Vienna, try Hostel Ruthensteiner. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, clean, cheep, etc.

I'd be more than more than willing to show you Amsterdam, as it is often shown very shitty by tourist guides and books and might give you a distorted experience of what the city is really like.
Its not hookers and weed. In fact, theres not that much of that, i can show you that in 5 minutes and then you've pretty much seen what everyone think there is to see.
I'm not saying its a cultural hotspot like Rome, but theres more to it than the tourist office's say.
Map makes it look like quite the trip.
London is great, so is Berlin (as long as you stick to the western side)
Prague is pretty decent, very cheap of course since it is an eastern European town.
Rome and Paris are pretty much what you would expect of it. Lot to see, but often overrated (especially Paris)
And if you are going to the south of France i would recommend going to St. Tropez. Its very expensive, but if youre just travelling through, its quite a sight.
I'm personally not a huge fan of Spain as a vacation location. Been to Barcelona, wasnt really dazzled by it.
Switzerland is also a great place to visit (expensive though)
Ive been to quite a few places in Europe. If you have any questions about cities or countries, feel free to pm me.
