Like if you can't remember how many states there are?

Do you know exactly how many stocks/bonds you own?

You're equating remembering stocks with houses?

I currently own 12,574 stocks, hardly a number I carry around in my head, or would need to.

The question of McCain's houses was regarding investment properties...hence asking the number of stocks.

Notice you didn't say shit about remembering the number of states...

So what if they're investment properties?

You'll be ceding several states to Mexico soon, I wouldn't get hung up on the current numbers.

So the relevance of him knowing--off the top of his head--how many investment properties his family owned is about as relevant as anyone else knowing how many stocks (or any other investment vehicles) they own. In short, it's not relevant. But it was played in the media as him being so rich that he was out of touch with mainstream America.

But not knowing how many states there are in the country...that's just being "tired." Which is likely true, but was handled completely differently by the media.

And you still haven't said how McCain would be any worse as President.

I dunno, does mainstream America own ~7 investment properties?

McCain would have been the slave of the GOP grand cabal, or dead and you'd have had Palin.
If Bush hadn't survived falling over while drunk the Taleban pretzel attack you'd have had Cheney in charge.

A Cheney-Palin ticket, now that would have been epic.

People in his income bracket (considering his wife's income as well)? Absolutely. Real estate is always a viable investment.

And your prognostication regarding McCain's longevity has been disproven by reality.

Bush was sober long before he became Governor of Texas, much less POTUS. You're high.

lol..

And real estate is still a viable investment.  Investors will grab current distressed properties at low prices, rent them out for a few years, and then sell them when the market gradually comes back.

Have you seen the demographic trends in Europe?

Because Detroit is the entirety of the global real estate market, right?

As is Japan, right?

Wasn't sure which one of them that was referring to, tbh.

So it turns out that on the whole HPV vaccine thing (which Perry got skewered on in the debate):

1. It was made mandatory so that insurance would cover it, reducing out of pocket expense for those wishing to get it

2. The age range was the age range in which the vaccine has the highest efficacy

Too bad he didn't come back with those in the debate.

BTW, got the above from my wife, a life-long, die-hard Democrat.

I don't disagree that he may not be the best guy for the job...but as compared to another four years of the incumbent? I'd take it.

I'm up for either of the two Mormons, personally. Pretty sure Newt's jockeying for the VP slot, regardless of who gets the nomination.

i have personally seen what Huntsman can do - think rationally, reach across the aisle, and exemplify the best of what the term "Republican" used to mean.

i also volunteered at the 2002 Olympics and met Mitt, he seemed genuine in the brief time i was around him.

but i also know that mormans have their own brand of batshit ideas, separate from the teabaggers.
