Just keep a semi-attentive eye on 'daily values,' stay active and there's no reason you should worry about drinking coconut milk or mixing it into coffee. I'd probably choose it over a creamer.

Am I the only one here who actually likes drinking (cold) milk for the taste?

To each his own. I'm just surprised you take all the health food crap at face value when you seem to put so much effort into being skeptical about everything else.

No. I think I kind of grew out of it in my 20s though. I have to buy long lasting organic milk or it will spoil in my fridge.

Get used to healthier foods and you won't really feel like getting anything else except the occasional pizza or something.

Only when I'm listening to audiobooks. Better in cereal or a bowl of cornbread, imo.

I'd rather enjoy the food I eat.

erm the point of the thread is not to take it at face value.  I read a lot about it also on various sites.

Me too.  Er, well I merely grabbed another beer.

It's clearly the lifestyle that many of you have chosen. I just fail to see the point. Why deny yourself pleasure just to add a few theoretical months to your lifespan? Who's to say you won't get hit by a car next week or have a heart attack at 55 anyway?

If you want to jump out of airplanes, or ride motorcycles at high speed, or eat unhealthy food... if it makes you happy, I say do it. Life sucks enough without going out of your way to strip out anything you might gain a sense of enjoyment out of. Now, some people genuinely like to exercise and stare at their abs in the mirror or whatever, and that's fine. I just have a problem when they try to preach to me and others, especially when it leads to excise taxes and other attempts at forcing their lifestyle on others.

I don't like lean burgers. I want those juices to flow. I want butter in my diet. And salt. And undercooked fish and beef. Bring it on!

well you say "that's fine" but you seem to be spending most of the thread peaching to everyone that it's a waste of time and you don't see the point...

There may be no food more American than the burger. And according to meat lovers, there may be no health code regulation less American than North Carolina’s rare and medium rare burger ban. From Winston-Salem to Nags Head, meat eaters are unable to order their burgers rare or even medium rare thanks to a state restriction that requires restaurants to cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 155 degrees Fahrenheit.

That’s enough heat to sufficiently kill dangerous bacteria like E. coli, according to state health officials. But it’s also enough heat to kill all of the flavor, according to Raleigh resident and rare burger aficionado Steven Elliot.

“I don’t believe in a nanny state when it comes to food,” said Elliot, who told AOL Weird News he would order his burgers “bloody” or “ready to moo” if he could.

I like coconut milk. But then again, I'm Asian. So...

I really like milk with all kinds of things though. Especially anything fatty or cheesy.

Yeah, I really need to edit that comment. It's coconut water that I despise.

i agree with this pretty much. I'd still eat more unhealthy foods if it wouldn't be risking killing me before my time. As it stands I've been on a diet for the past few weeks but I still let myself enjoy tasty foods.

I think the key is to make the food yourself (or at least eat at good restaurants, not McDonald's) and to watch your portions.
