probably not congenital, though hard to tell. my grandfather had a quad heart bypass in his mid 60's but that's because he is of a generation and lifestyle that... well... is going to lead to a quad-heart bypass. bad dieting, etc. so i don't think there's that sorta chance. as for addictive personality... probably something there, yeah. i never do anything by halves, and that went for my partying and reckless abandon, too. but the emergencies were 100% drug-induced. with the mild stroke (expressive aphasia) it actually happened like one of those really bad news stories where you hear about a bunch of junkies getting a bad batch... literally 4 or 5 of us had a terrifying 4-5 hour experience (basically a stroke) where none of us could talk, all because of this super-strong batch of synthesized speed-analogue. bad vibrations.
i'm just glad i got all that shit out of my system before i was 21 and had any real responsibilities or consequences. everything came good in the end and i look back on all those crazy-as-fuck experiences as a definite eye-opener about life and the way your mind works... as well as other peoples. i'd even recommend that other people go up to that edge and peer over. i think i'm a lot more mature than many other people my age now. most 21 year old students still think getting obliterated on shitty alcopops twice a week at a club is the wisest way to get loose. i feel a bit sage and jaded now.... in a good way, though.
