Thinking about it. Yeah I knew one kid in HS who used heroin when they were 15. And knew someone else who did when they were 19.
I kniw oxy use is also big here. I know a bunch of people who did that.
I didnt meet my first junky until last year in college. I knew crackheads and tweekers growing up.

My uncle is a recovered crack head. Spent a few years in county for armed robbery. Walked up to a guy while he was at the ATM and handed him a note saying he had a bomb and to give him all his money. He's still in and out of rehab every few years.

I also have a cousin that spent two years in rehab in Utah after a PCP addiction when he was about 16. And an uncle with a severe coke addiction that lives down in Florida after selling his body shop. Another uncle that is an alcoholic pothead that moved to a trailer in Vermont and another one that wrapped his car around a tree while driving drunk upstate and spent six years in a coma. That one is severely braindamaged and lives with my late 80s grandparents. Fun family I come from. Oh, and my dad was an alcoholic cokehead pothead who himself was hit over the head with a crowbar, robbed, and is now brain damaged and living on social security.
