I'm wondering where the pictures of scarred livers and dead people are on beer cans? After all, smoking is pretty bad for ME, but I don't think any amount of smoking will do this to an innocent person:

Or perhaps images of a diseased heart on all McDonalds wrappers? Perhaps a little sticker on guns that says "Do not use when angry!"

First they took away flavored cigarettes, now this. They'll probably finally get rid of menthols next despite, no joke, opposition from the Congressional Black Caucus. Then in time we'll just have generic white packages that say "MARLBORO" or "CAMEL."

Yeah and quite a few others. I don't think they've done much to curb smoking, but if someone would like to prove me wrong with statistics that can point to even a weak link that'd be nice.

Oh yeah and it's all on the taxpayer dime!!!!

I'm guessing that cigarette cases are about to come back in style.

Woman in that picture was a girl in the rear passenger seat of a car that got hit by a drunk driver.

Ask Ryan Dunn if he would have crashed had he been smoking instead of drinking?

yeah and if you buy coffee every day for 30 years it'll cost you quite a bit as well. not sure why people want to legislate how other people use their money...

well i dont smoke a pack a day and a pack in taiwan is 2 dollars... so even if i smoked a pack a day for 30 years in taiwan itd be 21k usd.

still its choices i make with my money and as hurri said, why should people legislate how others are spending its my own choice.

in america they have private health care which is a moot point.

also the lung cancer thing is way overrated and applies to people who smoke at least 2 packs a day for years on end.

I know, but you'd be surprised how many liberals think it should be banned. They had a little poll in the local paper the other day and shared two people's short opinions about the anti-smoking legislation. You know what one person (no doubt a Democrat) said? "Some people are too stupid for their own good."

There you have it, in one sentence, the typical nanny-state mindset that is pervading the US.

but what is wrong with telling people what the risks are of the dangerous things they are doing? They should put pictures of things that do actually happen, not the far fetched ones. because i think that most people dont know what the risks really are.

I'd just like to see some uniformity. Heart disease and diabetes are some of the leading causes of death, and can be caused by eating lots of fast food. Surely there should be warnings on fast food.

but i think the increase of the risk of getting hart disease and diabetes by fast food is quite a bit less than the increase in the chance of lung cancer.  you cant label everything.

Putting tobacco in plain packets does nothing to stop people buying it. Same when they stopped them from advertising, it just saved them money they were wasting.
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
