Staying at Waikiki beach for a week. With parents unfortunately. Yes I'm 21, will play golf with my dad more than likely and go check out some volcano or something. Got any suggestions?
I've only been there for work.
Great restaurants and bars all over.

the volcano is on another island
i always go straight from the airport to here for ahi poki - http://www.yelp.com/biz/tamashiro-market-honolulu
pearl harbour is neat - prepare for crowds there.
If you go to the west shore I advise some time with these guys http://www.facebook.com/Wild.Side.Specialty.Tours
Also on west side - a better deal on golf here. beautiful course! - http://www.facebook.com/MakahaResort

Makaha is where we stayed(for the first 3 days). A bit of a drive to everything else, but the rates are ridiculously low because of it and it's very pretty.Kimmmmmmmmmmmm wrote:

yes but spend the nights in waikiki
waikiki is late night action. Wonderful place. Pearl Harbor, Waimea/North Shore are all cool places to visit. Diamond Head is like 10 minutes south of Waikiki, check it out. Nice little hike.
get lei'd

awesome snorkeling

If you want to surf and don't really know what you're doing, just don't turn your back on the ocean (figuratively). Freshen up on safety and at least read up on how to (possibly) swim away from a rip current.
If you go see the pearl harbor memorial, plan on being there 3/4 a day especially if your going to see the arizona. Parking sucks and when you get in, get your tickets as soon as possible since you might have to wait hours for the arizona tour. As burnzz said, diamond head would be a nice hike to take. The north shore isnt that far to drive and then you can say you've "been there", but other than a couple surf shops and a mcdonalds, there is not much to do. golfing would be pretty cool but is going to be expensive. Waikiki beach area is nice, but crowded as hell. reminds me of this. Right off waikiki beach you'll find a maze of streets, all with 20 story apartment high rises filled with window airconditioners
Go see dog the bounty hunter's shop (da-kine bail bonds).
If you have the means, take a flight over to maui for a couple days and rent a jeep and drive the "road to hana", its pretty awesome but is an all day road trip. or drive up to Haleakala national park which takes you up to 10k feet above sea level.

because the tour was essentially sold out. we didn't know, you could show up early to stand in line.

My parents went last summer. I was responsible for editing all of their video... which was a metric shit ton of helicopters over lava flows.
