Headless home server box with insane amounts of storage that doubles as an HTPC, very large HDTV in my living room with 5.1 surround, gaming and work rig in the office and a tablet of some kind to control the whole lot.

What I have now, except with faster Internet, a larger sofa and acoustic treatments.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I'd go for a good couple of i7 rigs with 590s for when fin comes round to mine. 1080p projector with a decent htpc, i5 etc, hooked up to it, xbox connected as well. Kit my room out with a few comfy as fuck recliners and an awesome sound sytem.

i'd just buy an audiophile set-up and fill a room with records and the comfiest armchair that money could buy.

fuck spending anything over £2k on pc equipment, it'll be worth a 10th of that in 5 years.

This, plus a two-seater sofa.

It's powered by a cheap PC hidden in the room behind the TV. The speakers do 22~25000Hz -6/+3dB, and at 50", the TV is as large as it can be without the speakers being in the way.
