I am absolutely ashamed anyone still supports Kavanaugh on the SCOTUS. He should have been withdrawn days ago. This is going to hurt the legitimacy of the SCOTUS for at least a generation. If there is ever a legitimate constitutional crisis and the supreme Court needs to decide something I full expect to hear a chorus of people from one side door the other saying "Who cares what the Supreme Court says? They will let anyone become a judge. They let a rapist on the court!"

and if they don't confirm him, libertards on the left - and prolly everybody else as well - will all think it's possible to do away with anyone appointed to any government position by simply raising an allegation of a crime at them with no corroboration whatsoever.

it's not about kavanaugh's guilt or innocence (and no, he's not a rapist - not until it's proven in a court), it's about political instruments that are allowed into use. letting kavanaugh be sunk using completely uncorroborated crime allegation this time would open a pandora's box of similar crap to be used in the future.

by these standards, there should be no one sitting in the "most important court in the world"

did any of those 8 have last minute crime allegations raised against them?

i agree with all of that^. it takes two to fight. what i was trying to point out is that they - reps and dems both - totally lost track of what makes productive political struggle. the damage they are willing to do to the system as a whole seems...  unreasonable to say the least.

You'd need to fix your electoral college system first, along with the gerrymandered districts.

I used to teach at a failing high school in Newark. Complete chaos, anarchy, very dangerous. I get a laugh out of arguing with sheltered suburban Reddit teens and college students who think schools are "too hard on kids" and there needs to be more chances for "kids to be kids".

These people have no idea what it is like to try to teach at a place where security, safety, and discipline have broken down. Libs will never understand how bad shit can get until they are in the middle of it and it is already too late.
