I hate Jews? Because I made a comment years ago about Jews not bagging their own groceries? Lol. You're a sad sack of shit bro.

Seriously, you couldn't be any more useless. You have no friends. You fantasize about hurting people because you hate yourself so much. You fantasize about asian girls and hookers because you see them as submissive and know you couldn't compete for a real woman.  You're getting a completely useless degree that has done nothing but fill your head with childish idealism that won't survive your late twenties, or maybe it will turn into a burning rage of self hate and jealousy when you still can't find a girl and your 30k/yr salary makes you even less attractive. Huh, it seems like jay and macbeth are two of the most thickheaded troggles on this forum. Despite numerous warnings to stop and bans resulting from flaming, they continue to do it. The lack of self control worries me, because I deeply care about both of you. I can only imagine what it like when you have to go to the bathroom and there's nowhere to go. Do you shit yourselves? Or do you have more control over your bowels than you do here?
Are you both so arrogant that you think the rest of the forum wants to see you two engaged in a dick swinging contest? Its fun like a nascar crash is fun.

As far as I'm concerned, there are two options- stop, or don't. If you stop, all is well. If you don't, ill ban both of you, insult you as I'm doing it, plus ill sacrifice one asian hooker and one hoagie sandwich.  Please stop. No one wants to see a hoagie and a hooker harmed.

I'm glad that you axed.

For any of you that don’t know what a charter school in the U.S. is: a charter school is a privately run school that uses government money in the form of price per student. Each kid gets a certain amount of money for the school to use in any way it sees fit. Basically school privatization.

A school voucher is a government given voucher worth several thousand dollars to be used for paying the tuition of a private school.

My main gripe with both of these is economic segregation. America is an incredibly classist place: QED your Biblical struggle to move up in class. Everyone shits on the people in the class just under them in order to make themselves feel better. You know how they say racism is mostly due to lack of experience with other races in the early years of development? I think the same applies with class. Middle and upper middle class people seem to share a different world with the working class and the poor. Being born into the former and having friends and working with and around people in the latter I can tell you how how this exist.

Now I'm sure everyone just rolled their eyes and said "Macbeth went off the rails and became a communist". No. I'm perfectly fine with private schools existing and enforcing their own standards of admission whether it is along class or racial or whatever other lines that exist. But when it comes to charter schools and vouchers the issue suddenly moves into the area of 'what the government is doing'. I do not believe the government should be pursing policy that splits the country in different existences based on money. It is bad for the country and society.

Now you are also thinking "Macbeth wants to use the schools for social engineering". Well, yes. The entire point of schools was social engineering. They were meant to build upstanding and educated citizens who could contribute to society. Building a nation. Why not enforce policy that gets back to the root of the school's purpose?

And now you are digging through wikipedia and reason.com to hit me with some info about teacher unions and charter school performance. Well if you want to discuss charter schools, we can discuss charter schools. As you acknowledged earlier education is my planned course in life and education and reform is an interest. Several points Re: charter schools

A. Charter schools do not perform any better than normal schools. 83% of charter schools perform the same or worse than comparable local public schools. According to Stanford university.

B. They have a high teacher turnover. Charter school teachers are one and a half times more likely to leave teaching than a public school teacher. According to the U.S. department of education, charter schools are more likely to hire teachers that do not meet state teaching requirements.

C. The reason for hiring unqualified people and losing qualified ones is due to charter schools being non unionized. 95% of charter schools are non-union Remember charter schools are for profit entities and how an incentive to hire people for the least amount of money.

D. Being a for profit entity they end up squandering and mismanaging money that could be used on education.

My second gripe with charter schools are that they are or profit businesses. Not everything works better when there is a profit motive behind it for someone. Privatizing our prison system has unleashed maybe the worst human rights disaster in the Western world since the end of segregation in the south. Prison corps, and unions have inventive to make sure people get put into the prison system and stay there. God knows what will happen if we let private corporations run wild with the single biggest budgetary item for any U.S. state. For profit education at the university level has already led to a large amount of degree inflation and ballooning student debt.

I look forward to your well reasoned and not at all predicable and boring response.

Straight out of the teachers union glossies.

Charter schools dont always perform better, youre right, but they do offer a bit of competition, and that, in the end, will bring the whole system up. Public schools havent felt a need to innovate or change until they started facing the prospect of losing tax dollars.

As for turnover, well, its infinitely easier to get rid of bad teachers when they dont have a union contract that guarantees them a job for life unless they do something egregious like hit or sleep with a student. Ill take the higher turnover if it means better teachers on average.

Lastly, the bit about class disparity was completely stupid. Charter schools are wholly non-dependent on family income the same way public schools are. Wealthier families will still buy property in better school districts. Poor kids will still go to shitty schools. Nothing changes in that regard. Melting pot schools where you have the very wealthy and the very poor in the same classroom are incredibly rare, and those schools still have honors programs and non-regents tracks that basically make it so different kids are attending different schools all in the same building anyway. That honors -> non-regents divide lines up almost perfectly with family wealth btw.

If youre complaining about cherry picking (as seems to be the crux of your argument), well, private schools already do it with scholarships and heavy subsidation. Everyone wants the best students, and public schools are terrified they'll lose the best and brightest if parents are given an out. Boohoo, teach better.

Also, fuck social engineering. Its not your job or your right to try to force your version of morality on others. Especially not yours.

Competition and New teaching methods are largely Bullshit. It is a talking point by people who want to quantify and bring business methods into subjects like teaching that they don't have any understanding about. I would love to hear some of your ideas on New teaching methods. I am sure you are educated in this field.

Turnover leads to higher teaching standards? In the same line I mentioned turnover I also linked to a study that showed charter schools tend to hire substandard teachers selective reader. Also continuity is important when teaching over several grades. Schools are mini communities that work better when everyone is established and familiar.

Most charter schools don't use a lottery system and get to pick their students. In many places regional high schools bring many different people in.

I am getting a feeling I am discussing a subject with you that you haven't read as much as a single book on.

Seriously new teaching methods is the biggest load of Bullshit in the world. The Euros don't beat us in test scores because they found a new way to teach. They beat us because 25% of American children live in poverty. What the fuck does new teaching methods even mean? Seriously anyone in favor of "new teaching methods" tell me how your vision of teaching is preferable to the current one. In detail.

It's absolutely pointless to discuss anything with you. Do us all a favor and do not become a teacher. The last thing the world needs is another douchebag teacher that tries to crush anyone that disagrees with him. Give you a bit of power and you will become the worst kind of bully. I feel bad for any kids lives you end up touching, I really truly do.

Ever heard of Mississippi chinese? or the Chinese that went to America to build railroads? Pretty sure that's over 2 generations.

East Asians make up 3% of the population, yet somehow manage to have 40% of college population in the top US universities. It's got nothing to do with poverty and everything to do with culture.

Hell even African immigrants, who come from even more hardship still kick more ass.

"For example, 43.8 percent of African immigrants had achieved a college degree, compared to 42.5 of Asian Americans, 28.9 percent for immigrants from Europe, Russia and Canada, and 23.1 percent of the U.S. population as a whole."

personal example: my black friend who has parents from nigera, busted their ass and moved to the US. Her dad works at Corning as a high level manager (pulls 500k a year). One brother is an engineer, now studying his MBA at MIT, sister is doing her residency as a doctor, other brother works for university administration for delaware. She just finished uni and going on to do her masters. All of them have either obtained or are getting their graduate degree.

This doesn't disprove what I said. There is is something called a culture of poverty. If you thought my point was that test scores are determined by how much money you have in the bank then you are retarded.

They kind of are. They're jumping right into the middle class from nothing and are likely to stay there because they don't remain dependent on public schools to provide all education. I see second and third generation asian kids on the street every day here, and when they arent staring at their damn phone, they're walking to and from the seventy five tutoring centers that seem to be in town.

And btw, your ideas about socially integrated schools are ass backwards. If you purposely try to mix rich and poor kids in the same school, it doesn't bring the poor kids up by giving them a positive example, it's more likely to bring the wealthier kids down so they avoid being bullied. Respect for education is something passed down by parents, not by teachers or a school environment, and it does't go away in a generation or two, it gets reinforced if anything. It's why asians and jews outperform everyone else consistently, and why I personally was able to succeed.
